Are you a Christian?
"I wish not merely to be called Christian, but also to be
Christian." - Saint Ignatius of Loyola
Saturday, August 15th, is the Feast of the
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
This year, because the feast falls on a
Saturday, it will not be celebrated as a holy
day of obligation. However, Mass will be
celebrated on August 15th at 8:30 am in
Latin at Blessed Sacrament.
Retiro para mujeres, “Mujeres de Dios”, el dia 15 de
Agosto, 8:30am-8:30pm, en la Iglesia de la Resurrección,
5475 Newberry, con los Padres Favazza y Bradshaw.
The importance of charity
“Charity is certainly greater than any rule. Moreover, all
rules must lead to charity.” - St. Vincent de Paul
Marriage and the Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has tragically declared that states
must issue marriage licenses to two persons of the same
sex and recognize same sex “marriages” that were contracted in another state.
This broad, adverse ruling redefines marriage in the law
throughout the entire country, changing thousands of
laws regarding marriage, family and children and threatening religious freedom in numerous ways.
“Regardless of what a narrow majority of the Supreme
Court may declare at this moment in history, the nature of
the human person and marriage remains unchanged and
unchangeable.” -Archbishop Kurtz, President of the
USCCB.
Preach without words
"Preach the Gospel to all the world and, if necessary, use
words." __ St. Francis of Assisi
