● Bautizos— Si esta interesado en bautizar, venga a la

recoger la forma de registro para el bautismo. Se
requieren tres meses de anticipación para apartar la fecha
del bautismo.

Mercy Promise Scholarships at ICCS
Immaculate Conception Cathedral School, an all-girl
college preparatory Catholic school in the heart of
Memphis, has generous scholarships available for six
additional ninth- or tenth-grade students. To qualify for a
scholarship, students must be new to ICCS, test above the
50th percentile and demonstrate financial need. The
scholarship will pay up to half of annual tuition and is
renewable. The Mercy Promise Scholarship is the result of
generous donations from anonymous benefactors. For

22nd Annual St. Ann Special Athletes Fun Day
Saturday, October 5, 2013, Christian Brothers H.S.
Be a part of our 22nd anniversary of these special athletes
giving back to us far more than we could ever give to
them! Athletes from every school and church throughout
the Memphis area have been invited to participate in a day
filled with smiles, cheers and hugs, a day of fun and
fellowship for special children and adults raging from six
years old to adults. These adults will compete in a number
of track and field events, including the 25-meter dash,
softball throw, soccer kick, Frisbee throw, and bean toss,
as well as events for wheelchair participants.

the Blessed Virgin Mary; it is a holy day of obligation.

Paragraphs 2180 and 2181 of the Catechism of the
Catholic Church discuss holy days of obligation.
2180 … On Sundays and other holy days of obligation the
faithful are bound to participate in the Mass. The precept
of participating in the Mass is satisfied by assistance at a
Mass which is celebrated anywhere in a Catholic rite either
on the holy day or on the evening of the preceding day.
2181 The Sunday Eucharist is the foundation and
confirmation of all Christian practice. For this reason the
faithful are obliged to participate in the Eucharist on days
of obligation, unless excused for a serious reason (for
example, illness, the care of infants) or dispensed by their
own pastor. Those who deliberately fail in this obligation
commit a grave sin.
