GOD’S REIGN
By pointing to the end times, today’s readings speak to the coming reign of God, when God will make all things
new. In Christ, this time has already begun. We, by our energized watchfulness, can further God’s reign. We can heal
broken hearts, free captives, spread the Good News. Even so, the reign of God will not be complete without the second
coming of Christ. Our weekly Eucharistic gathering is a sign of the fullness of the end times. At Mass we join as an assembly to recall and to claim the story of Jesus as our own. Together we give thanks to God for the many gifts bestowed
upon us. We receive nourishment in the simple but profound meal. And our weak and weary selves are invigorated and
transformed by the power of Christ, so that we ourselves might become effective signs of God’s reign present and to
come.
EL REINO DE DIOS
Las lecturas de hoy, señalando el fin de los tiempos, hablan de la venida del Reino de Dios, cuando Dios hará nuevas todas las cosas. En Cristo, este tiempo ya ha comenzado. Nosotros, por nuestra vigorosa vigilancia, podemos
avanzar el Reino de Dios. Podemos sanar corazones rotos, cautivos, difundir las buenas noticias. Aún así, el Reino de
Dios no estará completo sin la segunda venida de Cristo. Nuestra asamblea Eucarística semanal es un signo de la plenitud del fin de los tiempos. En la misa, nos unimos como asamblea para recordar y reivindicar la historia de Jesús como la nuestra. Juntos damos gracias a Dios por los muchos dones que nos otorga. Recibimos alimento en esa comida
sencilla pero profunda. Y nuestro ser débil y cansado se vigoriza y transforma por el poder de Cristo, para que podamos llegar a ser signos eficaces del reino de Dios presente y por venir.

St. Vincent de Paul… This month needs: traditional
foods for the Thanksgiving Baskets and food for the
homeless. Food may be placed in the containers near the
church entrances or brought to the SVdP office: Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays between 4 - 5pm.
A family is in need of a bed (full or queen) and a dresser
or chest of drawers. If you are able to help, please call the
SVdP office, 582-1382, and leave a message.

Youth Ministry & Confirmation… We have over 100
teenagers registered in our Youth Group and Confirmation Programs. We still need 3 adult volunteers to
teach, lead, plan activities, supervise, and share your faith
with our teenagers. Confirmation is Sunday: 4 - 6pm and
Youth Group is Tuesday: 6:30 - 8:30pm.

fingerprinted, we are offering you the convenience of having an “on-site” Fingerprinting Day. The date is Saturday,
Decemeber 15. You will need to call for an appointment
so that we can accommodate all parish volunteers in a
timely manner and get you in and out without tying up
your day. PLEASE CALL THE PARISH OFFICE FOR A
TIME: 582-7282. We will offer appointments every 10
minutes from 10am – 2pm. The cost is $34. If you are
not able to pay this, the Parish will absorb the cost but
does appreciate those who can as a support to our Parish. Thank you for the generosity of your time, talent, and
treasure in the spirit of good stewardship. God bless you.

Spirituality of Stewardship/Espiritualidad de la Correspondencia:
The readings today speak of the end of the world and
the coming of the Kingdom. The bishops’ pastoral on
stewardship says clearly that “That ‘life to come’ is in
continuity with this present life through the human
goods, the worthy human purposes, which people foster now”. May our good stewardship cause us to be
numbered among the chosen on the last day!
Las lecturas de hoy hablan del fin del mundo y de la
venida del Reino. La carta pastoral de los obispos sobre
la mayordomía dice claramente “que ‘la vida que
vendrá’ es una continuidad de la vida presente a través
