We have a special invitation for all men of St. John Parish. The Men’s Catholic Fellowship of Maryland Conference is being held on Saturday, March 24th at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Towson. The conference begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 3:30 pm. Bishop Denis J. Madden, Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore will celebrate Mass. All of the events will be held in the auditorium. There will be 15 priests available to hear confessions. THE LIGHT IS ON FOR YOU...Wednesday , March 21 Our parish is participating in an Archdiocesan-wide reconciliation program initiated by Cardinal O’Brien called “The Light is On for You.” On Wednesdays in Lent—March 21 and 28 the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered here at St. John from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Catholic parishes in the Archdiocese of Baltimore will also have confessions available on these Wednesdays and we invite you to join us here for this sacrament. If you have been reluctant to come to the sacrament or have been away for some time or just found it difficult to get to regularly scheduled times for confession, this is a great opportunity to receive penance. To remind you about the parts of confession and the Act of Contrition, take a brochure in the narthex of the church to guide you through this renewing sacrament. Chesterton: the Apostle of Common Sense by Dale Alquist. The group will meet at 7:15 pm each Friday and will meet in the Parish Center. The Catholic Book Club is a time to discuss books of Catholic interest and to ask questions about the faith that you never seem to have the time to ask. There is no registration or cost. The EMC Ministry is seeking parishioners who would be interested in assisting our Clergy in the distribution of the "Body of Christ" and the "Blood of Christ" to parishioners during weekend Masses. Our choirs will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra, including Fr. Bianco on clarinet, as we commemorate Christ’s Passion. This evening of poignant music ends with a lullaby sung by the Blessed Mother as her Son’s Body is taken down from the Cross. HOLY UNION SISTERS TO RENEW VOWS...Sun., March 25 The Holy Union Sisters and their Associate Members in the Maryland area will publically renew their vows and promises at the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday, March 25th here at St. John.
