GRATITUDE
Surely we can all recall at least a few days in our lives
when things were going so well that nothing could put us
in a bad mood. Maybe it was the day a very special person
asked us to the senior prom, or perhaps it was our wedding
day. Maybe it was the day we learned that we were expecting a long-awaited child, or the day we got an overdue promotion. There was elation in our hearts and lightness in
our step, an extraordinary vitality throughout the day. We
probably got on the phone right away to tell at least a few
key people about our good fortune.
This is surely how Naaman and the leper must have felt
when they were rid of their terrible diseases. They were
hard-pressed to contain their gratitude, and although they
were both unfamiliar with the customs of a foreign land,
they had the good manners to thank the people responsible
for their cures.

Father Mauricio Will Attend Clergy Scripture Day
This Friday the 14th, Father Mauricio will be in Yakima
attending a course to assist in preaching. Please pray
for safe travel and that it may be a blessed time of
learning for him.
FOOD BANK
The Ephrata Food Bank is in need of PANTRY STAPLES for
the month of October. For example, things like flour, sugar,
oil, etc. Thank you for your donations! Please leave them
in the vestibule.
Church Mission Conference
Oct. 15th, Holy Family Parish in Yakima
The theme for this year is “Disciples of Mercy”
and will highlight the imperative
we have as teachers to bring the
truth of the Gospel to the world.
Sessions will be offered in English
and Spanish. Visit the Diocesan

TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY!
In announcing his decisions to declare a Holy
Year of Mercy, Pope Francis said, “Dear brothers and sisters, I have often thought about
how the Church might make clear its mission
of being a witness to mercy.” Supporting the
young churches throughout the world with
your prayers and generous gifts is indeed a
merciful witness of this mission. The collection today will help missionaries offer the
poor of these areas practical help as they share the mercy of God. It will
ensure the development of local dioceses, and support the work of priests,
religious and lay leaders who serve those on the margins and in most need.
Extend your merciful witness to the whole world through your gift in today’s collection for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith!
MASS FOR DECEASED PRIESTS
A special Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul Cathedral on November 22nd in honor of our deceased
brothers in the priesthood. It will be followed by a
shared meal. Mass will begin at 5:30 pm. For more

GRATITUD
Seguramente podemos recordar al menos unos cuantos días
en nuestras vidas cuando las cosas iban tan bien que nada podía
ponernos de mal humor. Tal vez fue el día en que una persona
muy especial nos invito a su fiesta de graduacion o el día de
nuestra boda. Quizas fue el día en que nos enteramos de que
tendríamos un hijo largamente esperado o el día en que recibimos una promocion tardía. Hubo alegría en nuestro corazon,
ligereza en nuestros pasos y gran vitalidad en el curso del día.
Probablemente nos fuimos al telefono para llamar a unas cuantas personas importantes y contarles acerca de nuestra buena
fortuna.
Seguramente que así se sintieron Naaman y el leproso cuando fueron curados de su terrible enfermedad. No podían contener su gratitud, y aunque ambos desconocían las costumbres de
un país extranjero conocían los buenos modales de dar las gracias a las personas responsables de sus curaciones.

El Banco de Comida de Ephrata necesita alimentos basicos

LAS MISIONES!
Al anunciar su decision de declarar un Ano
Santo de la Misericordia, el Papa Francisco
expreso: “Apreciados hermanos y hermanas,
con frecuencia he pensado en como puede la
Iglesia dejar clara su mision de testificar en
misericordia.” Apoyar a las iglesias jovenes de
todo el mundo con sus oraciones y generosos
aportes es, de hecho, un testimonio misericordioso de esta mision. La colecta de hoy ayudara a los misioneros a ofrecer a los pobres de estas areas ayuda practica
mientras comparten la misericordia de Dios. Tambien asegurara el desarrollo de las diocesis locales y apoyara el trabajo de sacerdotes y líderes religiosos y laicos, quienes sirven a aquellos que estan marginados y que mas necesitan. ¡Extienda su testimonio misericordioso a todo el mundo mediante
su aporte en la colecta de hoy para la Sociedad para la Propagacion de la Fe!

Pablo el 22 de noviembre en honor de nuestros hermanos sacerdocio difuntos. Sera seguida por una comida
