HOPE AND FORGIVENESS
There were some interesting conceptions of sin prevalent in the time of the Hebrew scriptures. There was the
belief that God punished sin immediately. Those who suffered disease or misfortune were, therefore, sinners getting
their due from the Almighty.
Today’s first reading hints at another kind of God. When
David admits his sin, Nathan declares, “The Lord on his
part has forgiven your sin” (2 Samuel 12:13b). Here was
not a vengeful God but a merciful God. What good news
that must have been to David and those who, like him,
could be honest enough to admit their sinfulness!
Jesus is the good news of God’s mercy and forgiveness
incarnate. Without Jesus, perhaps the good news would
have been too good to believe, too difficult to imagine. But
there he is in today’s Gospel, the God-man, forgiving a sinner and declaring that she is forgiven because of her great
love.
There is hope, then, for the rest of us sinners, if only we
love enough!

...I like soccer to watch it and practice it. I like Colombian
food of course (I was in Colombia during the month of
April on vacation) I am simple, practical, easy going,
down to earth, I like to get things done.
Thank you for helping support retirement needs
for those who have served so faithfully and
those who will serve. Thank you for your stewardship of treasure and your continued prayers
for our priests and seminarians.
I am very positive and even from difficult situations I
like to see the good side. I think that the
meaning of life and God’s plan is to find
happiness and God is the source
of happiness and fullness of life.
I am glad for the new assignment and I hope to see

THANK YOU FUNERAL VOLUNTEERS
YLI wishes to sincerely thank the over 30 parishioners who
either provided food items or worked this week for the
family of Iris Hubbard. We are deeply grateful for being
able to continue this important Parish ministry for families
who have lost a loved one.
APPROPRIATE ATTIRE FOR CHURCH
As it is getting nicer outside, we must remember when coming to church
that there is a dress code. We need to remember to dress respectfully.
This means no shorts, halter tops, open toed sandals for men, bare feet
or any other dress that is not appropriate.

The 3rd Annual Coconut Crawl 5K - 'Ohana
Fun Run is in the books! We had an incredible day filled with fun, laughter and time
with our school families and friends. Over
the past three years, nearly 400 people
have participated in the race and we've raised more than $50,000 for the
school. We are extremely grateful for all the parents, staff and family members that continue to step up and give of their time/talent/treasures to this
event. We are working hard to close up the financial portion of
the event. If you have any last minute donations for the school
or are interested in assisting with next year's event, please

BORN TO ETERNAL LIFE
The parish family offers our love and prayers to the Hubbard family in the loss of Iris. The funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday the 7th. We will continue to offer
our prayerful support in the weeks to come as we share
in the loss of our long time parishioner and friend.

ESPERANZA Y PERDÓN
Había algunas concepciones interesantes sobre el pecado que prevalecían en la epoca de las Escrituras hebreas.
Estaba la creencia de que Dios castigaba inmediatamente el
pecado. Los que sufrían alguna enfermedad o desgracia
eran, por lo tanto, pecadores que recibían su merecido del
Todopoderoso.
La primera lectura de hoy nos muestra a otro tipo de
Dios. Cuando David admite su pecado, Natan declara: “El
Senor te perdona tu pecado” (2 Samuel 12:13b). Aquí no
hay un Dios vengativo sino un Dios misericordioso. ¡Que
buena nueva debe haber sido eso para David y para los que,
como el, eran lo suficientemente honestos como para admitir su pecado!
Jesus es la buena nueva de la misericordia y el perdon
de Dios hecho carne. Sin Jesus, quizas la buena nueva hubiera sido demasiado buena como para creerla, demasiado
difícil de imaginar. Pero allí esta en el Evangelio de hoy, el
Dios-hombre, perdonando a una pecadora y declarando
que esta perdonada debido a su gran amor.
¡Hay esperanza, entonces,
para el resto de nosotros pecadores, si tan solo amamos lo
suficiente!

...Me gusta el futbol tanto de verlo como practicarlo. Me
gusta la comida colombiana, por supuesto, (yo estaba en
Colombia durante el mes de abril para mis vacaciones)
soy sencillo, practico, tranquilo, compresivo, me gusta
lograr las cosas.
Soy muy positivo e incluso de las situaciones difíciles,
me gusta ver el lado bueno. Creo que el significado de la
vida y el plan de Dios es encontrar la
felicidad y Dios es la fuente
de la felicidad y la plenitud
de la vida.
Estoy contento por la nueva asignacion y espero
verte pronto!! Bendiciones!!
Gracias por ayudar a nuestros sacerdotes jubilados que nos han servido tan fielmente y a nuestros seminaristas en formacion. Gracias por la
co-responsabilidad de su tesoro y por recordar a
nuestros sacerdotes y seminaristas en sus oraciones.

VESTIRSE APROPIADAMENTE PARA LA IGLESIA
Como ya esta mejorando el clima, debemos recordar que cuando
venimos a la Iglesia necesitamos vestirnos apropiadamente. No
shorts, camisetas, o blusas sin mangas, o cualquier vestido que no
este apropiado, los hombres no deben usar sandalia, pies descalzos o cualquier cosa que no sea apropiada para vestir.

esta en los libros! Tuvimos un día increíble lleno
de diversion, risas y tiempo con nuestras familias
y amigos de la escuela. Durante los ultimos tres
anos, cerca de 400 personas han participado en la carrera y hemos recaudado mas de $50,000 para la escuela. Estamos muy agradecidos por todos los
padres, miembros del personal y familias que siguen dando de su tiempo/
talento/tesoros para este evento. Estamos trabajando duro
para cerrar la parte financiera del evento. Si tiene cualquier
