Bullying Is a Form of Abuse
Did you know that bullying is a form of
abuse, and therefore is forbidden in our
Catholic schools? Bullying typically
consists of direct behaviors, such as teasing,
taunting, threatening, hitting, shoving and stealing. But it
might also be indirect, such as spreading rumors that cause
victims to be socially isolated through intentional exclusion.
Cyberbullying, which involves the use of the Internet or
mobile phones to send inappropriate messages and images to
or about others, is also behavior that is not tolerated in our
Catholic schools. If you suspect bullying of a child at school,
please contact the school principal with your concerns.

The Augustinians gather for morning prayers
after the 6:30 Mass every weekday morning. Anyone
wishing to join them is welcome.
Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Letter to the Community
Dear sisters and brothers in
Christ; I am so amazed at how, even
here in the Ojai Valley, God continues
to bless us, and provide a feast of wisdom and
goodness for everyone. I’d like to first thank all of
you who signed up to help fill vacant adoration time
slots. The ministry you provide truly helps all who
enjoy being in our Lord’s presence in the Eucharist.
As I have mentioned before, we pray that God’s will
be done on earth as it is in Heaven. We have
wonderful chances to practice what we will be doing in
Heaven for eternity. How awesome is that!
I would also like to take an opportunity to
thank all who brought donations of money and bags of
food for our pantry. We still need basic food
supplies like rice, noodles, Mac-n-cheese and pinto
beans, canned vegetables and fruits. We also need
canned meats like corn beef, and soups. We can always
use canned plain tomatoes, paste and spaghetti sauces.
We also use up a lot of Mexican sauces, like enchilada,
mole, hot sauces and salsas. Any canned or bottled
gravies also go quickly. We need basic things. Some
things we don’t really need are capers, pickles, fancy
mustards, (fancy food stuffs) etc; even though some
might enjoy them. Our pantry is not that big so we
like to supply for their basic needs. We can also use
money, which helps buy perishable things like fresh
fruit and veggies along with fresh meats.
In your ministry, like the disciples, you help
with the multiplication of the fish and the loaves. Your
witness is a living parable of God’s banquet that our
Lord’s kingdom is enacted in one way or
another, we all can share in that. I am so grateful for
all of your continued support. This is one really
awesome parish if you really think about it! Thank you
very much. I pray for continued blessings as I am,

NUESTRAS NECESIDADES MÁS PROFUNDAS
La Palabra de Dios nos brinda hoy una tremenda
fiesta. Isaías llama a todos los que tienen hambre y sed
para que vengan a satisfacerse en el Señor. El salmista
proclama: “Abres tú la mano, y sacias de favores a todo
viviente” (Salmo 145:16). San Pablo nos dice que nada
puede separarnos del amor de Dios. Finalmente, en el
Evangelio, escuchamos sobre el milagro de la multiplicación de los cinco panes y dos pescados con que se alimentaron a más de cinco mil personas. Nuestras necesidades
diarias suelen estar cubiertas. Sin embargo, estas lecturas
tienen mucho que decir al creyente contemporáneo. Debemos preguntarnos: “¿Dónde está mi hambre más profunda? ¿De qué estoy sediento?”. Una vez satisfechas las
necesidades materiales y, en algunos casos, más que satisfechas, mucha gente sigue ansiando tener equilibrio y
bienestar espiritual. Al multiplicarse los panes y pescados
en el Evangelio de hoy, tal vez nuestra oración es anhelar
que nuestras necesidades más hondas sean satisfechas por
el único que puede hacerlo: Dios.

¿SABÍA USTED?
Hostigamiento Es Una Forma De Abuso
Sabia usted que el hostigamiento (bullying)
son formas de abuso y son prohibidas en
nuestras escuelas Catolicas? El
hostigamineto tipicamente consiste en
bromas pesadas, burlas, amenazas, golpes, empujones, y
robo. Pero tambien pude incluir el lanzamiento de rumores
que pueden causar que la victima sea intencionalmente
excluida socialmente. El acoso cibernetico, que implica el uso
de la Internet o los telefonos celulares para enviar mensajes
o imagenes inapropiadas de personas o a personas, tambien
es comportamineto prohibido en nuestras escuelas
Catolicas. Si usted sospecha que algun estudiante es victima
de hostigamiento, inmediatamente comunique sus
preocupaciones al principal de la escuela.

Carta ala Comunidad
Carta a la Comunidad
Queridos hermanos y hermanas en
Cristo, estoy muy sorprendido de
cómo, incluso aquí en el Valle de Ojai, Dios nos sigue
bendiciendo, y nos ofrecer una fiesta de la sabiduría y
bienestar.
Quiero agradecer primero a todos los que firmaron
para ayudar a cubrir las vacantes para la adoración. El
ministerio que usted proporciona realmente ayuda a
todos los que
disfrutar de estar en la Eucaristía de nuestro Señor. Como he mencionado antes, oremos para que la
voluntad de Dios, se lleve a cabo en la tierra como en
el cielo. Tenemos maravillosas oportunidades de practicar lo que vamos a hacer eternamente en el cielo. Que suave es eso!
También me gustaría aprovechar y agradecer a todos
los que trajeron a través de donaciones de dinero y
bolsas de alimentos para la despensa. Todavía necesitamos alimentos básicos, como el arroz, fideos, Mac-nCheese y frijoles, verduras y frutas enlatadas. También tenemos las carnes enlatadas como la carne de
maíz, y las sopas. Siempre podemos usar tomates enlatados, pasta y salsas para espaguetis. También utilizamos una gran cantidad de salsas mexicanas, como las
salsas para enchiladas, mole y salsas. Necesitamos que
las cosas básicas. Hay cosas que nosotros no necesitamos, como son las alcaparras, pepinillos en vinagre,
mostaza, etc., a pesar de que algunas personas podrían
disfrutar de ello. La despensa no es muy grande así
que nos gustaría ofrecer cosas básicas. También podemos utilizar el dinero, lo que ayuda a comprar cosas
corruptibles, como frutas y verduras frescas, junto
con las carnes frescas.
En su ministerio, como los discípulos, usted ayuda con
la multiplicación de los peces y los panes. Su testimonio es una parábola viviente de Dios, convirtiéndose en
un protagonista de El Señor. Y de una forma u otra,
que todos podemos compartir eso. Estoy muy agradecido por todo su apoyo. Esta es una realidad
parroquia impresionante! Muchas gracias. Rezo que El
Señor nos siga bendiciendo como soy,
