Meet Amy Rueda!
CAR RALLY A SUCCESS!
Do you know which FPCSB congregation member was Dean of
the School of Education and where this member served as
Dean? Do you know where Mrs. Fletcher works in San
Bernardino? Do you know what famous instrument our organist
plays? (Spelling counts!)
These are some of the questions our FOC youth answered
(written in riddle form). We spent an hour on

talk about “Do all paths lead
to the same God?”
My name is Amy Rueda. I am
currently a second year student at
San Bernardino Valley College.
During my free time I like to read
and go on walks/run. I am
majoring in Administration of
Justice. My goal is to go into the
area of forensics. My favorite
colors are pink and purple. I do not
have a specific favorite song but I
enjoy listening to Christian and
Country music. One of my favorite
recent reads is The Help, by
Katheryn Stockett. I get my
inspiration from my belief and faith
in God, my family, and my two
cats.
Bumper Stickers!
FOC made bumper stickers for three different Mission
Projects in which FPCSB is involved. We had so much
fun coming up with tag lines and creating pictures! We
discussed how everyone has their own strengths and
bring something special to the body of the Church. When
someone does not attend worship, the whole church feels
the loss. The three mission projects were: First
Presbyterian Child Care Center, Mission Trips, and our
Food Ministry! Look for those bumper stickers in the
Fellowship Hall!
Car Rally Continued
…the road taking pictures on our camera phones to
confirm we made it to the right destinations. Zach
Garcia did a FABULOUS job creating the riddles,
coming up with routes for the teams, and creating a
scoring system! Everyone said how fun it was and we
finished with ice cream cones to cool us all down!
FOC Involved in Worship every 4th Sunday!
Starting this month, on September 28th, FOC will be involved in the worship service. Youth will have the
opportunity to be a lector, an usher, a greeter, or participate in other ways that may take a bit more practice
(singing a song in conjunction with the choir…) We want to connect FOC with regular worship service to
show the importance of youth in our church!
Did you know?
King George called the American Revolution "the Presbyterian Revolution" because
so many Presbyterian ministers were influential in starting and supplying American
independence. At least eleven of the fifty-six signers of the Declaration of
Independence were Presbyterians.

SEPTEMBER IS HERE!
September is the 9th month of the year
and marks the beginning of autumn in
the Northern hemisphere and the start of
spring in the Southern hemisphere.
The name September comes from the
Latin septem for seven, since this was
the seventh month of the Roman
