BOARD MEMBERS
We are committed to offering support to oncology families so they feel less isolated, frustrated and fearful in dealing with
the problems that cancer can manifest within the family structure. By the age of 20, one child or teen in 330 is diagnosed
in the United States. More children die of cancer than of any other disease, including asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis,
congenital anomalies and AIDS, COMBINED.

2015 “Hope for Heroes” Calendar
Childhood Cancer Foundation unveiled the 2015 “Hope for Heroes” Calendar on December 3rd at the Loma Linda University
Children’s Hospital. The 2015 Calendar features 11 beautiful child models pictured in scenes created by them, our heroes. We
asked our heroes to illustrate what they believed a hero to be - what they believed they, as a hero, would go out and do in the
world. Although our models represent various scenes of rescue and strength, they share a common bond: cancer. The focus of the
calendar is to highlight how all these children share a bond of Hope for all brave children fighting cancer. YOU ARE OUR HEROES.
Featured in the cover shot are firefighters of the San Manuel Fire Department that include
Engineer Mike Tidswell, Firefighter Frank Inzirillo, Captain Bryan Daniels, and Engineer Greg
Regan. San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has sponsored the production of the calendar,
photographed by Johnny Jaquez Photography. We’d also like to thank Superfly Kids for embracing our vision for the calendars theme and providing the superhero capes for each child.
Find additional information about our photographer on their website! – www.johnnyjaquezphotography.com. The calendar sales as well as our other fundraisers help us to
continue the much needed services we provide.
Calendars are NOW AVAILABLE on-line at www.ccfsocal.org/calendar. Also available at
the CCFSC Office (11155 Mt. View Ave #105, Loma Linda 92354) for $10 each. While
supplies last.
Revelamiento
Calendario 2015
Captain Bryan Daniels, y Engineer Greg Regan. San Manuel Band of Mission
View Ave #105, Loma
Linda 92354) por $10 cada uno. Hasta agotar existencias.

CHRISTMAS
CELEBRATION
The Loma Linda Drayson Center was transformed into a Winter Wonderland for Childhood
Cancer Foundation’s 33rd Annual Christmas Celebration. The annual celebration is provided
with the desire to provide families who are battling cancer the opportunity to enjoy the
holidays in a safe environment.
More than 500 guests, including children and their parents, joined us to enjoy crafts, face
painting, cookie decorating, lunch provided by Domino’s Pizza in Redlands as Christmas
music filled the gym with holiday cheer. Christmas Musical entertainment was provided by
the Ambassadors Children’s Choir from the Goñi Music Academy and Mariachi Itiel. One of the
most important guests of the party, Santa Claus, arrived shortly after the entertainment to
visit with each child. Each child received a wrapped gift from Santa and had a family photo taken courtesy of Cyndee Pelton.
There are really too many people to thank for making this event special for the children and their families, but we wish to recognize the tremendous contribution of our donors:

we would like to send a special thank you to Santa Claus, George Finkle, for spreading the Christmas cheer!

Teen Connection is a service to adolescents who have been diagnosed with cancer. Being
a teen is very difficult and having cancer compounds that difficulty. Being able to speak
and interact with other teens experiencing cancer can be helpful. This is where Teen Connection steps in. Teen Connection meets various times throughout the year. For more

Medieval Times
Teen Connection welcomed the New Year with a feast and a show at Medieval Times in Buena Park
in January. The group cheered on their Blue Knight as they enjoyed a meal of the medieval century,
roasted chicken – or as they called it: baby dragon! - with ribs and many more delicious treats. We
were transported “to an age of bravery and honor” where we witnessed epic battles and amazing
horse performances. It was definitely a show and meal to remember!
