We will be initiating persons ranging from children to adults. As we prepare to welcome each of these persons into our Faith community, we also need to reflect upon our obligation to continue helping them grow into our Faith. During this Holy week, we will end our Lenten journey and begin the Holy Triduum on Holy Thursday. This begins the process for the entire Paschal mystery that we celebrate at Easter. This week, I invite all of us to join together as the mystical Body of Christ to enter into this powerful mystery of our Faith. Please join us for the celebration of Holy Thursday in which we celebrate the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the Priesthood of Jesus Christ. Join us on Good Friday when we witness the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. We will have a live drama of the Passion of Christ lead by our Hispanic Youth outside of the church at 3 pm which we will follow as Stations of the Cross. Remember that Friday is one of the two days a year that all Catholics are asked to Fast and abstain from eating meat. I also want to invite you to join us Saturday evening for THE MASS of the entire liturgical year . At the Easter Vigil Mass, we proclaim all the highlights of salvation history. We renew our Baptismal promises, and we celebrate the sacraments of initiation with both adults and children who will be Baptized, Confirmed and will receive Holy communion for the first time. The Easter Vigil Mass is the most important Mass of the whole year. I also encourage everyone to invite family and friends who may not come to Church very often to join you for the amazing celebration of our Lord’s triumph over sin and death through His glorious resurrection. I encourage everyone to enter into this most Holy Week with very devout hearts. On Good Friday, we will also begin our nine day novena of the Divine Mercy of Jesus. We now have the image of the Divine Mercy of Jesus in both the church narthex as well as our Family Life Center. I encourage all families to pray the novena prayers for the Divine Mercy which can be found easily on the internet as well as some cards in the Narthex of the church. Let us pray that the Divine Mercy of Jesus will transform all of our Hearts during this most Holy Season. Sincerely in Christ, Fr.
