Thru this letter I
want to express
my gratitude to
all the volunteers
from the
FUNFEST
committee led
by Marc Small
and all the
leaders from all
the groups and
associations that form our diverse parish. I am thankful for your collaboration, time, generosity, teamwork, your
cultures and traditions that are also part of Queen of Peace and make us so unique.
You are an example, an inspiration and a guide to our community and to all the staff from this Parish. I know that
it was a lot of work to make the FUNFEST work; all the meetings on Saturday mornings, the designing,
planning, organizing all the activities but at the end God is always good towards our Parish and helped us to have
a very successful festivity. The total amount collected from the FUNFEST was $19,000.00 (gross amount) which
we could have never raised this amount without all the generosity of the visitors and our parishioners.
To all the rest of the volunteers that participated with their time, work, donations of food and beverages and
serving the rest of the people, thank you very much. Your generosity, kindness and time have not been in vain
and you too are an example to follow by the outsider, the lost one, and the stranger that came to Queen of Peace.
You made the people that came to the FUNFEST, the believer and not believer, the one that practice and the one
that does not, that this Parish is their home and that they are welcome, to all of you a Warm Greeting and thanks
again.
This collaboration and unity between all the communities that make Queen of Peace is a sign that we are open
and available to work together for our community and to give a human service and be generous to the community
of Aurora. I hope that we can stay together in prayer and that with the Divine help that we always hope to
receive, continue primarily announcing the Good News of the Gospel to everyone that comes to our parish and to
show that we can work together. I’m deeply grateful for everything,

Ustedes son un ejemplo, inspiración y una guía para toda nuestra comunidad y para los que formamos parte de esta
gran Parroquia. Yo sé que fue mucho el trabajo que dieron para que el FUNFEST saliera adelante; todas las reuniones
de los sábados por la mañana, el diseñar, planear y organizar todas las actividades pero al final Dios, que siempre es tan
bueno con nosotros, nos permitió tener un FUNFEST muy exitoso. El total de dinero recaudado del FUNFEST fue de
$19,0000.00 , el cual nunca hubiera sido posible reunirlo sin la ayuda de todos los visitantes y parroquianos que tuvimos.
A todos los demás voluntarios que han participado con su tiempo, trabajo, donaciones de comida y bebidas y sirviendo
a los demás mil gracias. Su generosidad, amabilidad y tiempo no han sido en vano y también ustedes son un ejemplo a
seguir para el forastero, el desconocido y el alejado que llega a Reina de la Paz. Han hecho sentir a todas las personas
que vinieron al FUNFEST, personas creyentes y no creyentes, practicantes y no practicantes que Reina de la Paz es su
casa, para todos ustedes muchas Gracias y un caluroso saludo.
Esta colaboración y unidad entre todas las comunidades que envuelve a Reina de la Paz fue una muestra de que estamos abiertos y dispuestos al trabajo y servicio de toda la comunidad; a un servicio humanitario y a una generosidad

Altar Server's
Training
To all Altar Server's and anyone
wanting to be an Altar Server
there will be a training held
on Saturday, September 5th at 3
PM in the Church. And every
month on the First Saturday at
the same time, 3 pm, this is a
beautiful way to serve our Lord. So, if you are thinking
about becoming an Altar Server anyone who has made
their First Holy Communion and is at least 9 years old
is welcome to serve. Thank you to Deacon Matt who
has graciously accepted the request to teach our Altar
Servers.

Para todos los monaguillos y todo los que han
estado esperando para ser Monaguillo habrá un

House
Each of the Gabriel Houses
offer spiritual and emotional support. In addition, we help mothers
with baby items such as infant and children's clothes, blankets, diapers,
wipes, toiletries, formula. We can also help pregnant moms and new
moms with personal care items. We assist with referrals for resources
including housing, employment, education, parenting programs. It is a
network of volunteers and churches working together to help women
in our community. If you would like more information or would like to
speak to someone from the Gabriel House at Queen of Peace please

A Walk Through the RCIA Process
Part 2
Are you someone or do you know anyone who…
 Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic?
 Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?
We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience
of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. You
are welcome to participate in the process with your questions, your insights and your faith story in a warm accepting setting . For

begin on Thursday, September 24, 2015.
What is RCIA?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process established for the universal Church for individuals to become Catholic
and receive the sacraments of initiation — Baptism, Conﬁrmation, and
the Eucharist. This initiation process also involves a parish community
experiencing a renewal in faith as it prepares and welcomes new members
into the Church. The Rite speaks of conversion as a “spiritual journey.”
Centered on fostering a deep relationship with Jesus and the Church he
founded, this journey takes place through distinct stages over a period of
time suitable to bring about a thorough catechesis, significant experience of
the parish community, and commitment to the liturgical and moral life of the
Catholic faithful.

Serving the poor and homeless of Aurora since 1986
individuals to join our Monday and Tuesday teams as a floater. A floater is
someone who fills in where needed so you would be doing a variety of jobs
such as assembling food baskets or helping at the front desk or helping in
the kitchen. Never a dull moment! Volunteers commit themselves to a
particular team and volunteer from 9:00 to approximately 2:00 on that day.

More than 45,000 have registered for the 31st World Youth Day in Krakow in the first 24 hours of the opening of registration.
On Sunday, Pope Francis was accompanied by two youth during his Angelus address as he officially opened the registration
period. The Holy Father registered himself as a pilgrim.
"There, I am registered!” he exclaimed after registering via iPad. “Through this electronic device I have registered as a
pilgrim to this Day. Celebrated during the Year of Mercy, this Day will be, in a certain sense, a jubilee of the youth, called to
reflect on the theme: 'Blessed are the merciful, for they will find mercy'".
Krakow, the city where St. John Paul II served as archbishop, will host the World Youth Day from July 26th - 31st next year.
This isn't the first time the World Youth Day is being held in Poland. The city of Częstochowa hosted the event founded by
John Paul II in 1991, less than two years after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Among the preparations underway in Poland to receive pilgrims is the "transformation" of dioceses into biblical cities, such
as Bethany, Cana and Gethsemane. Each will be characterized by particular elements on the theme of mercy. The city of
Bielsko-Żywiec, for example, will be the Mount of the Beatitudes. The diocese overlooks the Auschwitz concentration camp,
a place where pilgrims "can pray and reflect on the meaning of suffering and evil."
