PARISH NEWS
RESPECT LIFE
St Paul’s is beginning a Respect Life Ministry. We believe it's important to have a visible Pro-life presence in our parish and to provide parishioners with opportunities to practice this important part of
our faith. Pro-life means respecting life from conception until natural
death and our ministry will reflect all facets of what it means to be Pro
-life. Anyone who wishes to participate is welcome. You can also get
more information by emailing [email protected].
CURSILLO RETREAT
All are invited to participate in a Cursillo. The women's Cursillo is
scheduled for May 12-15 at the Nazareth Retreat Center, Boise. The
Men's Cursillo is scheduled for June 23-26 at Our Lady of the Rosary, Boise. It's not too early to submit an application. Information
on where to submit the form is included on the application. Applications may be found in the main entrance of the Church.
KNIGHTS
Attention all Catholic gentlemen. Pope John Paul Council 2014 will
be having a membership drive on April 9th & 10th at St Paul's Church
in the gathering area. Please come be a Knight, we know you will
enjoy it.
ST. PAUL’S EDUCATION FOUNDATION
The St. Paul's Educational Foundation is sponsoring scholarships for
the Bishop Kelly High School and Continuing Education students.
The deadline for the application is APRIL 15th, 2016. If you would
like to apply please submit an application which will be located in the
rectory, at the school and in the front of the church. If you have any
questions please call Mary Ann Vande Brake at 880-5223.
JESUIT SPEAKER SERIES
On Monday, April 11 at 7:00pm, join Fr. Chris Hadley, S.J. for a lively
conversation about the practical role theology plays in any healthy
spiritual life. Fr. Hadley has recently been awarded his Doctorate in
Theology from Marquette University and is currently a post graduate
fellow at Regis University in Toronto, Canada. The presentation will
be held at St. Paul's Catholic Student Center at Boise State. Free
and all are welcome. A wine and cheese reception will follow. Call

BASEBALL CAMP
Bishop Kelly is hosting their annual baseball camp for kids 7-12 years
old. They will be learning the fundamentals of the game while being
coached by current Bishop Kelly players. Campers will get a shirt and
awards will be given out each day. Registration forms can be found

WONDERFUL NEWS!
Micron Education Foundation awarded St. Paul’s Catholic School a
$1,000 grant for next year’s 5th and 6th grade students to attend
McCall Outdoor Science School during the Fall of 2016! Thank you
Micron!
KINDRED CARE CENTER MASS
There will be a Holy Mass at Nampa Kindred Care on Saturday, April
16nd at 10 a.m. All are invited. All who are ill may receive the Sacrament of the Sick at this Mass.

TEACHER POSITION
Full-time teaching position: St. Paul's Catholic School . St. Paul's
Catholic School is currently accepting applications for a full-time
teaching position, grade level to be determined. Idaho State Teacher
Certification required, bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Candidates must be actively involved in their Catholic faith/
parish life. A complete application packet will be accepted until the
position is filled. Application will consist of the following: 1.) an introductory letter of interest; 2.) resume; 3.) completed diocesan application; 4.) three recent letters of reference. The complete application

NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING
NFP strengthens marriages! Live, Virtual, and Self-paced online classes available! Natural Family Planning courses teach married and
engaged couples the scientific sympto-thermal method of fertility
awareness. It is over 99% effective at postponing pregnancy and has
greater success than other interventions at helping couples struggling
with infertility. Couples regularly report a rediscovery of God's plan for
married love and a strengthening of their faith. The live 3 course series will be held in Boise, Sundays from 1:30-4:00, April 17, and May
22. Pre-registration is required. Virtual and self-paced courses also

33 DAYS TO MORNING GLORY RETREAT
A Mary Retreat will be held at St. Joseph's in Melba on Sunday evenings! During the meetings we will study a few saints that have been
close to Our Lady! We will meet on the following days: April 10, 17,
24 and May 1, 8, and 13. The 13th is the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. We will meet from 7- 9 pm. We will end our retreat with a Consecration to Blessed Mother Mary. Cost will be $28.00 for the materials.

Would you like to be a missionary right at home? If so, consider hosting a Catholic international exchange student. International Exchange
Student Program seeks families in Nampa and Kuna to host a high
school student for the 16-17 academic year. Host families are volunteers who provide room and board and exposure to life in America.

Fr. Peter Hannah, O.P. campus associate pastor at St. Catherine of
Siena Catholic Newman Center, Salt Lake City, will hold a short forum on Truth in Christ in the Modern World at 10:30 AM, Sat., April 16
at BSU's St. Paul Catholic Center in Boise. All are welcomed to join
and listen to this inspiring young priest who gave up a golf career to

A summer kids’ event called Cave Quest will be
hosted at St. Paul’s June 13th –16th 5:308:30pm. Registration: will start Sat, April, 16th
after 5pm Mass and Sun, April, 17th after 9:30
and noon Mass, you may continue to register at
parish office during regular hours. Registration
fee is $20/child. If you register before May 6th,
the early registration fee applies-$10/child.

SCRATCHING PEWS
Our pews are starting to get scratched up in spots. Sometimes our
wallets, jeans and belts have a lot of metal on the outside and when
we sit, they can scratch the pews.
OFFETORY ENVELOPES
If you are receiving them and not using them, please contact the
Parish Office to have your subscription cancelled. If, on the other
hand, you would like to receive them and are not – again, please

BISHOP KELLY YOUTH FOOTBALL
23rd Annual Camp. The only contact camp for Optimist age players.
For players in grades 3rd – 8th for the 2016-2017 school year

PRE-BAPTISMAL CLASS
All parents and godparents are invited to participate in the pre baptismal classes on April 19 at 7:00pm in the Church.

It is time for the annual Lt. Cmdr. Ron Vauk Memorial Scholarship
Contest. This is sponsored by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) Court, Nampa.This scholarship, worth $500.00, is open to
all graduating seniors . The topic this year is “How voting is a patriotic act.” Rules for essays can be picked up from your parish office or
contact Judy A Bartz at [email protected] and she will e-mail
you the rules. The deadline for submitting an essay is Monday, April
25, 2016.
WATCH MASS ONLINE
Please let people who are not able to attend Mass know that our
Sunday and Holy Day liturgies can all be watched on our website:
www.nampacatholic.church. It’s very easy to do. Scroll down on our
homepage and click on “Watch Live”. You can also watch archived
Masses. So if you open the website on Sunday at 2:00pm you can
watch the 9:30am Mass for that day. It’s a great way to stay connected.
MASS IN OREANA
Mass in Oreana will be celebrated on April 16 at 10:00am. All are
welcome!
ROSARY
May is the month chosen by the Church to honor the Virgin Mary.
Consequently, St. Paul's Respect Life Ministry will be saying the
Rosary a half hour before each of the weekend Masses to pray that
all life is valued. Please join us, and if you would like to lead a Rosary please email [email protected].
SHERI BOICOURT JOINS STAFF
St. Paul’s is happy to announce that Mrs. Sheri Boicourt will be our
Development Director and Fundraising Coordinator. Sheri, a long
time parishioner, will have a big job ahead of her as we move into
Phase II. Her role will be a significant help to grow our parish and
school.
EUCHARIST FOR THE HOMEBOUND
If you or a loved one is unable to attend Mass because of illness or incapacity to travel and would like to have a Eucharistic minister bring the
Eucharist to you at home or in the hospital or nursing facility, please
notify the parish office or call Judy Kimbrough at 249-5511. We will be
happy to make arrangements with you. Spanish speaking is available.

BIBLE STUDY
Fr. Bill will be teaching a Bible Study on Tuesdays at 10am .The title of
the class is The Great Themes of the Bible. The class will be held at the
parish office.
IDAHO CATHOLIC APPEAL
If you have not already offered your pledge to this year’s ICA, please do
so. We are counting on you to respond to this year’s theme,
Follow Me. It reminds us to share our gifts for the benefit of our brothers
and sisters in Christ who need your assistance. Funds provided through
the ICA help to bring Christ’s comfort and support for the many pressing

MUSICIANS NEEDED
Strings and flute players wanted. We would like to add flute and strings
to our 5 pm Sunday mass. We are looking for players of intermediate to

Capstone Missions tiene una gran oportunidad de permitir que

Muchos católicos adultos que están activos en
su fe nunca han sido confirmados. Durante
este Año de la Misericordia, el Obispo Peter
está delegando a los párrocos y administradores la facultad general de confirmar a todos los
católicos que están buscando el Sacramento
en una de las dos fechas siguientes: el 15 de
mayo, Domingo de Pentecostés; y el 20 de
noviembre, Fiesta de Cristo Rey. Esto permitirá que los católicos adultos sean confirmados sin tener que pasar
el largo proceso más apropiado para los catecúmenos o adolescentes. Si usted es un adulto católico que nunca ha sido confirmado y le gustaría recibir este sacramento en cualquiera de esas dos
fechas, comuníquese con su párroco para las instrucciones y únase a su comunidad parroquial en la celebración del Sacramento de
Confirmación. Los adultos que tengan algún impedimento para la
confirmación (ejemplo: irregularidades en el matrimonio,) deberán
