JESUS WILL LEAD US TO
THE FATHER.
W
JESÚS NOS GUIARÁ HACIA
EL PADRE.
L
hether or not you live close to
any shepherds and their
sheep, there is still a strong
appeal in thinking of Jesus as the Good
Shepherd who laid down his life for his
sheep—us! The wolf that might both
devour one of the flock and scatter the
rest is not a force unknown to us. The
wolf can be found both within and outside of us.
Destructive inner forces—anger, jealousy, hatred—can
consume us, leaving us weakened and lifeless in the face
of their power. We need to look no further than the
morning paper or evening news to see the evil that can
come from powerful persons and institutions, wreaking
havoc on the powerless and the poor. Jesus, the Good
Shepherd, is a model for the Church by his self-sacrifice,
by his commitment to those whom the Father has
entrusted to him and whose names He knows. We can
trust Jesus to take us to the Father. For our part, we must
learn to look beyond the narrow confines within which we
tend to locate those who belong to Jesus.
What boundaries have you set up that need to be knocked
down so that all will be welcomed “into the fold”?

OUR CATHOLIC APPEAL • 2015 • NUESTRO LLAMADO CATÓLICO
Did you know…? Your gifts to Our Catholic Appeal
bring families closer to God and one another. Pope
Emeritus Benedict XVI, described the family as “the
first and indispensible teacher of peace.” We want to
nurture the faith of our families and support them as
they face the challenges of our morally troubled
world. Because of your generous gifts to Our Catholic Appeal,
all families in our parish – and throughout our diocese – are
able to benefit from support services provided by the
Diocesan Office of Family Life. Opportunities include marriage
enrichment programs as well as workshops designed to
address the unique needs of stepfamilies and single parent
families.
¿Sabías que…? Tus regalos a Nuestro Llamado
acerca a Dios.
Gracias a tus
generosas donaciones a Nuestro Llamado Católico,
Thank you for your generous donations to the 2015
Our Catholic Appeal. If you have not yet made a donation this
year, it is not too late to participate!
Please pick up a pledge envelope from one of the Ministers of
Hospitality or at the parish office. You may also pledge online
at www.cfocf.org. Payments can be made as a one-time
donation or spread out over several months.
Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.
