CORPUS CHRISTI
Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ
(Corpus Christi)
Week of June 22, 2014
Scripture Reflections: Dt 8:2-3, 14-16; 1 Cor 10:16-17; John 6:51-58. How blessed we are! The
manna sustained the Israelites during their early journey, but Jesus’ bread of life sustains us for eternal
life. The manna came from heaven down to earth, but the bread of life comes from the earth and lifts
us up to heaven. The manna reminded the people of the Lord, but the bread of life is the Lord. So when
you receive Communion today, remember who you are receiving and what he did for you—and don’t
forget it for the rest of the day! Remembering will help you stay focused on your eternal heritage. It will
help you obey God’s commands. And most important, it will convince you that nothing can separate
you from the love of God! “Jesus, help me to remember your love today and every day.”

Next week our diocese will take up the PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION, which
provides the Holy Father with the funds he
needs to carry out his charitable works around
the world. The proceeds benefit the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and
disasters. Join our Holy Father as a witness of
charity to those who are suffering.
