CHOIR DIRECTOR NEEDED .
St. Bede
Catholic Church is seeking a director for the traditional
choir. This part-time position requires applicants to
have experience in vocal development and conducting,
be a practicing Catholic, and be available for the 8am
Sunday Mass and choir practice one night a week,
preferably Thursday. Duties include planning the
liturgy, previewing and purchasing music, and directing
the choir.

financial assistance for the education of men for the

remembered in the daily prayers of seminarians.

Requirements for Baptism

Parents must be married in the Catholic Church.
If a couple is civilly married or unmarried, they must
make an appointment to meet with the Pastor before
they can have their children baptized.
3. Children age 6 and under will receive the sacrament of
Baptism. From 7 and above, they will receive all three
sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Communion, and
Confirmation).
4. Parents must bring a copy of their marriage certificate
from the Church where they were married.
5. Godparents must be practicing Catholics. You may
have a proxy for a godparent/s who may be unable to
come.
6. To have your child baptized, contact Joan at 272-3463
to schedule a Baptism Preparation Class.
7. Baptism in English is every 3rd Sunday of each month
after the 10am Mass.

Our Lady, Queen of Mercy Church on
Narrow Lane Road, to remain open around
the clock, giving honor and glory to Jesus
in the Blessed Sacrament. Give Jesus one hour a week
and He will pour out grace upon grace for you and your
family and for the entire world!
HOURS MOST NEEDED: Sun - 2pm; Tue - 2pm
Thu - 9pm; Fri - 1 pm; Sat - 5am. These hours are in
immediate need and would be most appreciated, but we
also welcome you to choose any hour during the week
that will work for you.

NOVENA TO ST. PADRE PIO.
St. Bede the Venerable Parish will pray a
special Novena to St. Padre Pio beginning
Thursday, September 15 - Feast of Our Lady of
Sorrows and ending on his Feast Day, Friday,
September 23. On September 21, we will have
a special testimonial after the Novena prayer.
Mass will be celebrated at 6pm on all weeknights,
except Saturday & Sunday. Novena will follow after
the Mass.

La parroquia St. Bede el Venerable va a orar
una Novena al St. Padre Pio comenzando el Jueves,
15 de septiembre - la Fiesta de Nstra. Sra. de los
Dolores y terminando el día de su Santo el
Viernes, 23 de septiembre. El 21 de septiembre
vamos a tener un testimonioespecial después
de la Oración de la Novena. La Misa será
celebrada a las 6pm seguida por la Novena todas las

It is time once again for all religious,
employees and those volunteers who
have substantial contact with children to
complete their Children and Adolescents
Protection Program (C.A.P.P.) retraining. This retraining
is required of all personnel who have already
completed their initial C.A.P.P. training and who
continue to be active in the ministries of the Archdiocese
of Mobile. Retraining can be completed online.
Log on to www.mobilearchdiocese.org.
The retraining articles will be found on the Office
of Child Protection page. After reading the
articles, take the quiz. You will receive immediate
feedback as to whether or not you pass the quiz.
The online database will be automatically updated
with the new retraining expiration date.

If you are new to the parish and would like to
volunteer either at the parish or the school, you will
need to take the initial training. It is offered the
fourth Wednesday of the month which will be
September 28, at the MCPS High School campus at 7pm.

Mass! We practice on Thursday nights at 7pm in the

A weekly Mass will begin at Gunter Annex on 15 Sep 16 at 12:15 PM,
in Bldg 888, RM 1065, for Catholics working on Gunter or living close by. Fr Linn Harbour, the base Catholic Priest, will
be the celebrant. This Mass will only be offered on Thursdays and is an effort to better serve Gunter Catholics who

No Meetings - just $12 annual dues
The Priest Burse Club was founded by Bishop Thomas J. Toolen in March, 1953. The purpose was
to establish a permanent scholarship for the education of the men of the priesthood from the
Diocese of Mobile. With your $12 a year dues, you will become a member of a select group - people
dedicated to the education of seminarians. Membership is open to everyone! If you have a sick
friend, a dear one who is deceased or someone you would just like to remember in a very special
way, you may enroll them as a member or make a contribution to the Memorial Fund in their name.
They will share in the daily Mass and prayers offered for members.
