The Year of the Faith proclaimed by Pope
Benedict XVI began October 11, 2012, the 50th
anniversary of the opening of Vatican II and the
20th anniversary of the publication of the Catechism
of the Catholic Church. It will conclude on November 24, 2013, feast of the Solemnity of Christ, King
of the Universe. This special year was an opportunity to "once again discover the path of faith" and
highlight "renewed enthusiasm for meeting Christ.”
When he proclaimed the Year of Faith, the Pope
said that this was a time to "give renewed impetus to
the mission of the whole Church, to lead people
away from the desert they often find themselves in
and bring them to friendship with Christ who gives
us His life fully.”
In addition, the proclamation of the Year of Faith
was intended to "sustain the faith of many believers
who, in the midst of everyday fatigue, continue to
entrust their lives to the Lord Jesus with conviction
and courage.” His testimony is what allows the
Church to be present in the world today, as in the
past, with faith and enthusiasm.
The Year of Faith was inserted into a context
"characterized by a widespread crisis relating to
faith.” "This crisis left many contemporary human
beings in spiritual poverty," unaware of the absence
of God in their lives and the need to rectify this
deficiency.” The Year of the Faith was intended as a
means for the Christian community to satisfy their
nostalgia for God and rediscover God.
I hope that this year has been for you a time of
growth in faith and love of Jesus Christ. We unite in
prayer with our Holy Father as we conclude this
Year of Faith in our lives.

A Word of Appreciation from the Pastor…
The cooperation received from the people of St.
Philip’s in forming this parish, deserved more than a
word of appreciation.
St. Philip’s stands as a memorial to the self-sacrifice
of a God-loving people. So far God has showered His
blessings upon us. May the priests and people of St.
Philip’s continue in the spirit of self-sacrifice, so that God
may bless us more and more.
To His Excellency, the Most Reverend Paul P. Rhode,
D.D., to the Consultors of the Diocese of Green Bay, to the
Building Committee, to the parishioners, to the Pastors of
the East Side churches, and to the Oak Grove School
Board, and the Preble Town Board, who gave such
generous cooperation on their part, I express my sincere

Nov. 17-Gospel Reflection:
Wow—talk about doom and gloom! What Jesus is trying
to tell us in the gospel today is the reassuring fact that God is
always with us. There are times in our lives when we feel
scared, hurt, lonely and confused. God is with us in these
times when we struggle. We may have to look harder, but
God is there. God also puts people in our lives at certain
times to guide us through these difficult times. This is what
faith is all about. Difficult times challenge us to be strong in
our faith and also grow us in our faith; to be hope-filled; that
“all will be well.” To think about or for discussion:
~When you are faced with a difficult situation or a problem
of some kind, how do you deal with it?
~What are some healthy ways to deal with conflict and/or
problems?
~If you live within a family, how do you as a family work
out conflicts? You might hold family meetings…….
~What/who gives you “hope” when things seem difficult or
when you are struggling? How can you get back up again and
not stay negative or discouraged?

HISTORIA
El Padre Verbeten fue el
primer párroco de la Parroquia de San Felipe y estuvo
aquí los primeros 31 años.
En el año 1940 el expresó
estas palabras:
“La participación de la gente en la formación de
nuestra Parroquia de San Felipe merece más que
unas palabras de agradecimiento.
Nuestra Parroquia de San Felipe comenzó con el
sacrificio de la gente que ama a Dios. Ahora Dios
nos ha mostrado sus bendiciones. Pidamos a Dios
para que les permita a los sacerdotes y a la gente de
San Felipe continuar con espíritu de sacrificio para
que así Dios nos siga bendiciendo más y más.”
OREMOS POR LOS
JOVENES
Continuemos orando por los jóvenes
de nuestra parroquia, especialmente
por los jóvenes de el grupo de Jornadas y nuestro párroco Padre Jose Antonio que están participando en un
retiro hasta el día de hoy. Que Dios le
permita cambiar su vida para que puedan hacer una
diferencia en nuestro mundo y así alcanzar la salvación. Damos la bienvenida y agradecemos la presencia del Padre Philip que aceptó estar con nosotros
hoy en ausencia del Padre José. Que Dios le colme
de bendiciones y le dé fuerza para seguir viviendo
fielmente su vocación.
OREMOS POR LOS FILIPINOS
Después de sufrir por la catástrofe natural
que azotó las Filipinas el pasado viernes,
miles de familias sin hogar y personas fallecidas necesitan de nuestras oraciones.
Oremos todos para que Dios les ayude a salir adelante, y que les de fuerza para comenzar de nuevo.

Mensaje del Padre José Antonio Castañeda
Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas,
El Año de la Fe, proclamado por el Papa Benedicto XVI, comenzó el 11 de octubre de 2012 en el
50 aniversario de la inauguración del Concilio Vaticano II y en el 20 aniversario de la publicación del
Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica. Concluirá el 24 de
noviembre de 2013 en la Solemnidad de Cristo Rey
del Universo. Este año especial es una ocasión para
“volver a descubrir el camino de la fe” y resaltar “el
entusiasmo renovado del encuentro con Cristo.”
Al anunciar el Año de la Fe, el Papa dijo que este
tiempo busca "dar un renovado impulso a la misión
de toda la Iglesia para conducir a los hombres lejos
del desierto en el cual muy a menudo se encuentran
en sus vidas a la amistad con Cristo que nos da su
vida plenamente.” En su carta apostólica “Porta
Fidei”, el Santo Padre habla "de la exigencia de volver a descubrir el camino de la fe para resaltar cada
vez más la alegría y el entusiasmo renovado del encuentro con Cristo.”
Asimismo, este año se propone "sostener la fe de
tantos creyentes que, en medio de la fatiga cotidiana,
no cesan de confiar, con convicción y valentía, su
existencia al Señor Jesús. Su testimonio es el que
permite a la Iglesia presentarse al mundo de hoy, como en el pasado, con la fuerza de la fe y con el entusiasmo de los sencillos.”
El Año de la Fe se inserta en un contexto
"caracterizado por una crisis generalizada que atañe
también a la fe.” "La crisis de fe es la expresión dramática de una crisis antropológica que ha dejado al
ser humano abandonado a sí mismo. Es necesario ir
más allá de la pobreza espiritual en que se encuentran muchos contemporáneos, que ya no perciben la
ausencia de Dios en su vida como una carencia que
debe ser colmada. El Año de la Fe quiere ser un camino que la comunidad cristiana brinda a los que
viven con nostalgia de Dios y con el deseo de encontrarlo de nuevo.”
Deseo que este tiempo haya sido para ustedes un
año donde pudieron crecer en fe y amor a Jesucristo.
Nos unimos todos en oración junto al Papa para concluir este Ano de la Fe en nuestras vidas.

Solo para reflexionar...
A menudo vemos catástrofes a nuestro alrededor
y nos preguntamos si está llegando el fin del mundo,
o por qué avanza el mal y a veces parece triunfar
mientras que los buenos son perseguidos y atacados.
Malaquías, en la primera lectura de hoy ya anuncia
grandes problemas.
Jesús dice que nadie sabe el día ni la hora y que
la única manera de prepararnos es vivir en fe, alegres y confiados, porque sabemos el fin de la historia y es un fin de triunfo y de gloria que se alcanza
en Cristo. Pero, ¿cómo mantenerse alegres y confiados en un mundo así? Por un lado, haciendo memoria de las grandes cosas que Dios ya ha hecho con
nosotros. También recordamos la presencia de Dios
en todo momento de nuestra vida, en los buenos y
en los malos, manteniendo la esperanza y haciendo
las obras de la esperanza: es decir, llevando misericordia, consuelo y apoyo a otros.
Todo lo que busca el bien para otros, aunque suponga sacrificio para nosotros mismos, nos va a
traer la alegría de la presencia del amor de Dios.
Mientras esperamos a los últimos días, tenemos que
trabajar sin cansarnos.

Inscripción: dos meses antes.
Requisitos: Registrarse, presentar el Certificado
de Nacimiento, participar en la preparación.
2ndo y 3er sábado del mes.
Matrimonios y Quinceañeras
Inscripción: 6 meses antes.
1er, 4to o 5to sábados a las 12:00 o a la 1:30
2ndo y 3er sábado a la 1:30 pm.
Navidad en Riverside
Si usted ya recibió los boletos
de la rifa para la “Navidad en
el Riverside” le recordamos
que debe devolver la parte inferior con el pago correspondiente para que usted tenga la
posibilidad de ganar un buen premio en la rifa. También debe apartar con tiempo su espacio para la cena
en el Riverside. Habrá mesas de hasta 8 personas.
Esta es una de las grandes actividades de la parroquia de los cuales se recauda dinero para los gastos
durante el año. Esperamos que usted pueda acompañarnos a este gran evento.
RECORDATORIO
Les recordamos que durante el tiempo de adviento y cuaresma NO hay
Bautizos. Hay posibilidades de celebrar un Bautismo solo un sábado de
enero y uno de febrero. Si usted está planeando bautizar a su hijo (a), llame lo antes posible.
También si usted esta interesado en recibir
el sacramento del Matrimonio en el 2014,
le recordamos que es importante que aparte su fecha lo antes posible para asegurarles que tenga la fecha que desea.

Creo, Jesús mío, que estás real y verdaderamente en el cielo y en el Santísimo Sacramento
del Altar. Te amo sobre todas las cosas y deseo vivamente recibirte dentro de mi alma, pero no pudiendo hacerlo ahora sacramentalmente, ven al menos espiritualmente a mi corazón.
Y como si ya Te hubiera recibido, Te abrazo y me uno del todo a Ti, Señor. No permitas
que jamás me aparte de Ti, Amen.
