Fasting, Prayer and Almsgiving
FASTING – Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59
are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. In addition, all Catholics 14 years old and older
must abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good

by the U.S. bishops means partaking of only one full
meal. Some food (not equaling another full meal) is
permitted at breakfast and around midday or in the
evening—depending on when a person chooses to
eat the main or full meal.
PRAYER – Come to the Stations of the Cross, Adorations and other activities.
ALMSGIVING–Participate in the Parish Operation RICE
BOWL

If you are interested in becoming an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, there
will be a training session on Saturday, February 28, 2015 @ 10:00 A.M in the Church and
we would invite you to attend. If you are currently a serving minister and it has been four (4) years or longer since
you have been trained it is recommended that you attend to learn of changes that have been incorporated
by the Diocese.
To join this ministry you must meet the following requirements:
Sincere Christians of age from adolescence (high school
age on) through adulthood acknowledged by peers to
be active Catholic Christians.
Faithful Catholics who have received the sacraments of
Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation and participate
faithfully in the sacramental and liturgical life of the
Church.
Fostered their own devotion to the Eucharist and show an
example to the rest of the faithful by their reverent and

Music News
…….looking to build a unison choir for the Saturday,
5:00pm mass. All ages welcome. Rehearsal would be at 4pm in the
music room. If you’re interested, contact
Denise Brooks at the church office or email
[email protected].
_________________________________________
Sound News …….. that awesome sound system you enjoy in the church can’t be
on auto-pilot. The sound needs to be monitored so that every reader, cantor, presider and
deacon can be heard, and music groups balanced to encourage congregational song. I
have a couple of regulars but the church needs a few for each mass so we can rotate.
Teens – this iPad was made for you – and you can get service hours! Training will be provided. Please contact Denise Brooks at the office or email [email protected] if you can
help. Thanks!!
