Primera lectura - ¡Sean fuertes, no teman! Su Dios viene
a salvarlos (Isaías 35:1-8a, 10).
Salmo — Ven, Señor, a salvarnos (Salmo 146 [145])
esperar a otro?” (Mateo 11:2-11).
IMPRESSIONABLE
A child’s life is like a piece of paper on which every
passerby leaves a mark.

PRO-LIFE CORNER -
FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners,
We celebrate today the Third Sunday of Advent, often called GAUDETE SUNDAY, from the Latin
word which means REJOICE. “Joy” is the theme of our Liturgy and is symbolized by the rose-colored
candle on the Advent Wreath and the priest’s rose vestments. May we anticipate the great joy of the
coming Christmas feast as we journey through the final 10 days of the Advent season, filled with a spirit
of joyful expectation!
Msgr. Mahoney
Queridos Feligreses:
Mons. Mahoney
SPECIAL NOTICE
Once again people have been parking in and blocking the entrances to the rectory driveways on
79th and 80th streets, especially on Sundays. This is both inconsiderate and illegal! We will now
contact the police department and violators will be ticketed and towed away.
PLEASE RESPECT THE RECTORY DRIVEWAY ENTRANCES AS YOU WISH
YOUR OWN DRIVEWAYS TO BE RESPECTED!
AVISO ESPECIAL

GUADALUPE CELEBRATION
We are most grateful to DEACON MARCO LOPEZ and the Guadalupe Committee for a wonderful
celebration last week!
CHRISTMAS AND YEAR END GIVING
In our Catholic Tradition Christmas marks the beginning of the Ultimate Gift - God’s Gift of His only Son, Jesus Christ, whose
birth is celebrated on Christmas. Tradition also holds that the three kings or wise men followed the star to bring gifts to the
newborn king, beginning the beloved custom of gift giving at Christmas.
But what about the gifts that God has bestowed upon us during the year and throughout our lifetimes? We are only the stewards
of these gifts. The season of Christmas and the end of the calendar year is a wonderful opportunity to make a special return to
God of His Many blessings to us!
One of the ways to do this is through the ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GIFT TO THE CHURCH COLLECTION, which will be taken up as
the Second Collection next weekend (December 21-22). We encourage every parish family to MAKE A SPECIAL EFFORT TO
CONTRIBUTE GENEROUSLY THIS YEAR. We all know how generous God has been to us. Let us try to express our gratitude
through our generosity to His Church.
generosidad a Su Iglesia.
