What is the Men’s Rites of Passage?
The Men’s Rites of Passage (MROP) is a powerful experience built upon classic patterns of male initiation
leading the men into a journey for greater authenticity, meaning and healthy masculinity.
The MROP borrows ancient rituals from different cultures, and teachings from the Judeo-Christian traditions. Each day includes: prayer, teachings on central themes of masculine spirituality, quiet time for reflection and sharing in small groups.
Nature and wilderness is not only the backdrop, but the medium that creates “liminal space” or threshold, that “transitional” place where transformation occurs and opens us up to the sacred.
“We have lost the custom of male initiation, and so we are the exception to every primal culture in the
world. The initiation of the boy into manhood, was deemed absolutely necessary for cultural survival
and for personal spirituality.” (Richard Rohr, OFM) .

¿Qué son UMBRALES: Ritos de Pasaje para Hombres?
UMBRALES (ritos de pasaje para hombres) es una experiencia poderosa fundada en patrones clásicos de
iniciación para hombres que les muestra un camino que conduce a vivir con mayor autenticidad y significado y a desarrollar una masculinidad saludable.
UMBRALES incorpora rituales ancestrales de diferentes culturas y enseñanzas de las tradiciones judeocristianas. Cada día incluye: oración, enseñanzas sobre temas centrales de la espiritualidad masculina,
silencio para la reflexión y compartimiento en grupos pequeños.
La naturaleza no solo es la escena, sino que el medio que crea el “espacio liminal” (un umbral), ese lugar
“transitorio” donde ocurre la transformación abriéndonos a lo sagrado.
“Hemos perdido la costumbre de iniciar a los hombres, y en eso somos la excepción de cada cultura indígena alrededor del mundo. La iniciación de un niño hacia la vida de un hombre, se consideraba absolutamente necesaria, no solo para la supervivencia de la cultura, sino para la espiritualidad personal.” (Richard Rohr, OFM) .
