Let`s Get Organized

Dear Parents and Guardians:
It has been my pleasure to see many of you at our community engagement opportunities over the past week.
About 40 members of the ARPS community attended the Merging ARMS & ARHS listening session on Monday
evening and toured the high school with some of our amazing ARHS students.
Many of you also came to the Amherst School Committee meeting on Tuesday to see the presentation of the
draft Educational Plan and formal recommendation for the Amherst Elementary Building Project, which speaks
to unified elementary schools across our district. The Amherst School Committee will vote on the
recommendation at their next meeting on Tuesday, November 3. If you missed the School Committee meeting,
you can see the Elementary Building Project Powerpoint presentation and read the draft Education Plan on our
Facebook page. My newsletter also features information about the formal recommendation. This is a very
important decision for our schools today and well into the future. To hear more prior to the School Committee
vote, please plan to attend one of the two public forums on Monday, October 26 at 3:30 and 7:00 p.m. in the
Amherst Regional High School auditorium.
I have also shared information over the past few weeks about the Hurricane Revisioning Summit scheduled for
Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We are pleased to invite those who are interested to attend
this important event which will bring together community stakeholders from the district towns to participate in
facilitated discussions about the proposed merger of ARMS and ARHS and the financial, educational, and social
opportunities and challenges it presents. RSVPs are required for this event, so please let Debbie Westmoreland

Finally, due to popular demand, we are providing two additional opportunities for the public to view Most Likely
to Succeed! The film will be screened on Monday, November 2 at 4:00 and again at 6:00 in the Amherst
Regional Middle School library. This is a small venue so seating is limited. As above, email or call Debbie
Westmoreland to reserve your seats.

Ha sido un placer ver a muchos de ustedes en las oportunidades de Interacción con la Comunidad durante la
semana pasada. Unos 40 miembros de la comunidad de ARPS asistieron a la escucha de Consolidación de ARMS
y ARHS el lunes por la noche y recorrieron la escuela secundaria con algunos de nuestros increíbles estudiantes
ARHS.
Muchos de ustedes también vinieron a la reunión del Comité Escolar de Amherst, el martes, para ver la
presentación del Proyecto de Plan Educativo y Recomendación Formal para el Proyecto del Edificio Elemental de
Amherst, lo que trata de la unificación de las escuelas primarias a través de nuestro distrito. El Comité Escolar de
