Remove screws from bottom restrictor arm track and save screws for ▶▶ For windows with restrictor arm (width more than 30" wide), reuse. Repeat for top restrictor arm. proceed to Step 2. ▶▶ For windows without restrictor arm (width less than 30" wide), proceed to Step 4. Windows with Restrictor Arm Only 3 Exterior Restrictor Arm Restrictor Arm Track Rotate top and bottom restrictor arm and restrictor arm track toward sash. 4 5 Exterior Exterior Releasing hinge arm allows sash to swing freely. Sash may suddenly swing out and break free causing injury and/or product damage. Support sash during entire replacement process. Sill Hinge Arm Flat Blade Screwdriver Hinge Channel Stud Release bottom hinge arm from hinge channel stud using a flat blade screwdriver. Repeat for top hinge arm. 9069245 2 Rotate top and bottom hinge arm toward sash. Rotate upper and lower hinge arm toward sash. 6 Exterior Windows and doors can be heavy. Hinge Shoe Hinge Channel Hold sash firmly and slide top and bottom hinge shoes from ends of hinge channels. Place sash on a clean, flat surface with interior side facing up. Hold sash firmly and slide upper and lower hinge shoes from ends of hinge channels. Place sash on a flat surface with interior side facing up. 7 8 Windows with Restrictor Arm Only Restrictor Arm Remove hinges from top and bottom of old sash and reapply in same position on new sash at predrilled holes. Remove restrictor arms from top and bottom of old sash. Reapply in same position on new sash at predrilled holes. 9 Drill/Driver Lock Lever Lock Lever Screws Remove lock handle(s) and reapply in same position on new sash at predrilled holes. Dispose of old sash properly. 9069245 3 Lock Lever 10 Exterior Hinge Shoe Hinge Channel Lift new sash into unit opening. Position top hinge shoe into end of top hinge channel first, then bottom hinge shoe into end of lower hinge channel and slide sash in place.Lift new sash into unit opening. Position upper hinge shoe into end of upper hinge channel first, then lower hinge shoe into end of lower hinge channel and slide sash in place. 12 11 Exterior Exterior Drill/Driver Restrictor Arm Track Sill Hinge Arm Sill Hinge Channel Stud Restrictor Arm Re-engage upper and bottom hinge arm to hinge channel stud. Re-engage upper and lower hinge arm to hinge channel stud. Reposition upper and bottom restrictor arm track and fasten using saved screws. 13 Interior Close and lock sash.
