Mensaje del Papa para la
Cuaresma 2016
(Primera Parte)
(RV).- El Papa Francisco ha titulado su
Mensaje para la Cuaresma del Jubileo de la
Misericordia con las palabras de Jesús:
«Misericordia quiero y no sacrificio» (Mt 9,
13), destacando las obras de misericordia en el
camino jubilar.
ESPAÑOL
«María, icono de una Iglesia que evangeliza porque es evangelizada»; «La alianza
de Dios con los hombres: una historia de misericordia; y «Las obras de
misericordia», son los tres puntos del mensaje pontificio.
En el primero, evocando el Magníficat de María, el Santo Padre empieza
reiterando su invitación - como hizo en la Bula de convocación del Jubileo
extraordinario – a que «la Cuaresma de este Año Jubilar sea vivida con mayor
intensidad, como momento fuerte para celebrar y experimentar la misericordia de
Dios» (Misericordiae vultus, 17).
Y señala que, con la invitación a escuchar la Palabra de Dios y a participar en la
iniciativa «24 horas para el Señor», quiso hacer hincapié en la primacía de la
«escucha orante de la Palabra, especialmente de la palabra profética. La
misericordia de Dios, en efecto, es un anuncio al mundo: pero cada cristiano está
llamado a experimentar en primera persona ese anuncio».
«Por eso, en el tiempo de la Cuaresma enviaré a los Misioneros de la
Misericordia, a fin de que sean para todos un signo concreto de la cercanía y del
perdón de Dios», escribe el Papa Francisco.
En el segundo punto, recuerda que «el misterio de la misericordia divina» que se
revela a lo largo de la historia de la alianza entre Dios – siempre rico en misericordia
y ternura- y su pueblo. «Drama de amor» que «alcanza su culmen en Jesús el
Hijo hecho hombre. En él Dios derrama su ilimitada misericordia hasta tal punto que
hace de él la «Misericordia encarnada» (Misericordiae vultus, 8).
En el tercer punto, el Santo Padre subraya una vez más la importancia de la obras
de misericordia corporales y espirituales, con su especial anhelo de que el pueblo
cristiano reflexione sobre ellas durante el Jubileo: «será un modo para despertar
nuestra conciencia, muchas veces aletargada ante el drama de la pobreza, y para
entrar todavía más en el corazón del Evangelio, donde los pobres son los
privilegiados de la misericordia divina» (ibíd., 15).
