Con ocasión de la conmemoración del XXX Aniversario del asesinato del
Arzobispo de El Salvador, Monseñor Oscar Romero, la red Pax Christi
Internacional ha organizado una Consulta con copartes y organizaciones
amigas de México, Centroamérica y El Caribe, entre el 22 y el 24 de Marzo
próximos en la ciudad de San Salvador.
Pax Christi Internacional, como movimiento de paz global, con más de 100
organizaciones copartes en cerca de 50 países del mundo, desarrolla acciones
de solidaridad e incidencia en torno a los temas de promoción de la paz, el
desarme y un orden mundial justo. En este sentido, favorece el diálogo, los
intercambios entre pueblos y la construcción de la paz, como horizonte y
camino.
En América Latina y el Caribe, Pax Christi ha desarrollado un proceso de
acompañamiento durante las últimas décadas a copartes, redes de paz y
organismos de derechos humanos, en sus luchas por un sub-continente que
promueve la paz, la inclusión social y en el centro, la dignidad de las
personas.
Como complemento a la Consulta, una Delegación del Secretariado
Ejecutivo de Pax Christi con sede en Bruselas y miembros del Comité
Ejecutivo sostendrán reuniones con líderes de la Iglesia Católica, de otras
Iglesias y miembros de la sociedad civil salvadoreña y del Continente, que
participarán en los eventos públicos y privados que honrarán la memoria de
Monseñor Oscar Romero, Mártir de América.

During the Commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the assassination of
Monsignor Oscar Romero, the Archbishop of El Salvador, the network of
Pax Christi International has organised a Consultation with Members,

partner organisations and friends from Mexico, Central America and the
Caribbean. The Consultation will take place the 22nd to the 24th of March,
2010 in San Salvador.
Pax Christi International, as a global peace movement, working with more
than 100 partner organizations in almost 50 countries of the world, strives to
develop actions of solidarity and advocacy focusing on the promotion of
peace, disarmament and a just world order.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, Pax Christi has developed an
accompaniment program during the last decades for Member
Organisations, networks for peace and human rights organisations in their
struggle for a region which promotes development, social and central
inclusion, and the dignity of the person.
In addition to the Consultation, a delegation of staff from the International
Secretariat in Brussels and members of the Executive Committee will have
meetings with leaders of the Catholic Church, other churches and members
of the Salvadorian civil society as well as from other parts of the continent,
who will also participate in the public and private events which will honour
the memory of Monsignor Oscar Romero, the Martyr of America.
