Automation in Transport systems
As the science and knowledge service of the Commission,
the mission of DG Joint Research Centre is to support EU
policies with independent evidence throughout the whole
policy cycle.
With 7 Scientific Institutes, 3 Corporate Directorates and
the DG/DDG Office, the JRC is located in 5 Member States
(Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain).

The Sustainable Transport Unit, comprising more than 50
staff, provides scientific and technical support on clean
and efficient fuels and vehicles for sustainable mobility.
The Unit supports the competitiveness of the European
transport industry by assisting the development of the
Strategic Transport Research and Innovation Agenda.
Position for:
FG IV Programme Officer Scientific Research
The Contract Agent will contribute to the set-up and
maintenance of the Transport Research and Innovation
Monitoring and Information System (TRIMIS), developing
and utilising economic analysis and assessment tools to
advance its analytical capabilities. With the tools and
methods she/he will evaluate EU transport innovation and
research measures at large, with emphasis on
autonomous vehicles and automation in transport
systems.
The work will be carried out in close collaboration with
colleagues within the Institute and other Institutes of the
JRC. The preparation of reports and scientific publications
are an integral part of the required tasks. It also involves
contacts within and outside the Commission.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a university degree in
transport related Engineering, Economics or Science and
relevant experience of at least three years.
Good command of English (B2 level) is required. Good
drafting skills, particularly in English, supported by a
publications list are essential.

issues, who will have a good aptitude of taking initiative,
developing new concepts and be a strong team player.
This position offers a number of varied and interesting
tasks in a friendly and well integrated Unit to a motivated,
flexible and reliable colleague.
