Mission Statement
Our Lady of the Hills Roman Catholic Church is inspired by the Holy Spirit and formed by
the Gospel, under the patronage of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Our mission is to preach and
teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As one family under God, the Father, we welcome all who
come to us and are particularly mindful of those in need.
Welcome ~ We welcome all newcomers to our parish family and request that you see an Usher
after mass for a registration packet or call the Parish Office. Please stop by the Hospitality Table
after Mass if you have any questions concerning the Parish.
Sacramental Information
Baptism - You must call the parish office to register for a Baptism Class. This must be done one month
prior to the scheduled class. Call the Parish Office for more information.
Marriage - You must contact the Parish Office at least six months prior to wedding.
Anointing of the Sick
If you find yourself or a loved one as a patient in a hospital and are in need of the Sacrament of the
Anointing of the Sick, please call the office during business hours as soon as possible. Please do
not wait until your loved one is in critical condition. There can be unavoidable delays in a priest
getting to the hospital immediately. Also, if you plan on entering the hospital for a particular
procedure, you may receive the Sacrament of the Anointing, prior to admission, by making contact
with the parish office.

No previous experience necessary. Contact Debbie Heizer, Inquiry Coordinator or Deacon Steve
Burdick at the Parish Office at 772-7400. Discover the Catholic Church!

Dear Parishioners,
Estimados Feligreses,
On Thursday, February 25th, we had our first Pastoral
Council meeting with the expanded membership. The
Pastoral Council (PC) is made up of Fr. John, Sr. Christina,
and myself as “ex-officio” members. Veteran members
include Jamie Lutes, Ligia Rios-Rosas, Sheila Gallagher,
Sharon Roberts, Larry Brace, and Teresa Santana. Our
new members are Mary Lukowski, LaLone Augustine, Bill
Malinowski, John Marchegiano, Kevin McRedmond, Bill
Miller and Patrick Scavarda. I would like to thank all of
the members for their willingness to serve on the PC.
Gallagher, Sharon Roberts, Larry Brace, y Teresa Santana.
Los nuevos miembros son Mary Lukowski, LaLone
Agustine, Bill Malinowski, John Marchegiano, Kevin
McRedmond, Bill Miller y Patrick Scvarda. Me gustaría
The ministries of our parish are organized under seven
categories. I have asked members of the PC to focus on
one of these categories and be a contact person with
ministries in a particular group. Some groups which are
larger will have a few council members. I have asked them
to assist, listen, support, and serve as a liaison to bring
issues to the entire PC or to offer advice to the ministry as
a member of the PC. The PC members who will focus on
Community Building will be Jamie Lutz and Bill Miller. Sr.
Christina will be the liaison for Stewardship and
Volunteers. The contacts for the ministries that are
concerned with Social Outreach will be Sr. Christina, Bill
Malinowski and LaLone Augustine. Kevin McRedmond
will be the PC member who will oversee the
Evangelization ministries. The Prayer and Worship
ministries will communicate with Teresa Santana, Larry
Brace, John Marchegiano, Sharon Roberts, and LaLone
Augustine. The ministries that are considered Christian
Formation will be discussed and guided by me, Ligia RiosRosas, Mary Lukowski, Patrick Scavarda, and Sheila
Gallagher.
My hope is that having a PC member who is familiar with
a few of the ministries will allow that member to bring
any issues, good news stories, or needs to the entire PC. I
hope this will allow us to have a better idea of how these
ministries are serving the needs of others and our parish.
Please keep the members of our PC in your prayers.
Thank you very much and God bless you.
In the Redeemer,
John Marchegiano, Sharon Roberts, y LaLone Agustine.
Los ministerios que se consideran formación cristiana,
serán discutidos y guiados por mí, Ligia Ríos-Rosas, Mary
Lukowski, Patrick Scvarda, y Sheila Gallagher.
bendiga.

SYMBOLON CHALLENGE As part of our FORMED package is
a series called SYMBOLON. It is a summary of the Catholic faith
and how we live it. There is a certificate available for anyone
who has watched all 20 sessions. To receive the
certificate, make a list with the session title and the date you
watched the session or completed the session. This will be
based on the honor system, but if you watch it with another,
you could have them sign their name after the date. You can
email, mail, or bring to the office the completed list with your
full name, address, and phone number. SYMBOLON is a
wonderful tool for continuation your Catholic faith formation.

A FAMILY OUTREACH MINISTRY -Please join
us on Saturday, March 12, in preparing sandwiches and cookies for the homeless at
Transitions in Columbia. This is a wonderful outreach for families and/or individuals
who are interested in helping the less fortunate in our area. We meet in the Family Life
Center hall and kitchen at 1:00PM and work together to prepare the food. Just bring your own
bread, sandwich fixings and sandwich bags and join us in feeding hungry people in our
community! If you’d prefer to donate prepared foods, fruit cups and applesauce cups (with or
without sugar) are always in need.
We hope to see you on Saturday afternoon, March 12th, from 1pm – 3pm in the Family Life
Center! Everyone is welcome, but a parent or guardian must accompany children.
Please call Nadine Robinson 960-3540 or Katie Herbst 318-4679 with questions.
See you on the 12th!!! With many hands the work will be light.
pesado.
