The Cuban Society of Mathematics and Computer Science (SCMC) and the University of Havana invite you to
attend the 12th International Conference on Approximation and Optimization in the Caribbean, APPOPT 2016, to
be held from June 5 to 10, 2016 in Havana, Cuba. Visit us at http://gama.uc3m.es/appopt/
SUBJECTS:
APPROXIMATION: wavelets, rational and polynomial approximation, splines, orthogonal polynomials,
interpolation, asymptotic analysis, radial basis function and numerical methods.
OPTIMIZATION: continuous and discrete optimization, parametric optimization, global and stochastic optimization,
nonlinear equations and inequalities, non- soft analysis, critical point theory, control theory.
MATHEMATICAL ECONOMY: fixed point theory, competitive economy and balance problems, knapsack problem,
cooperative and non-cooperative games.
APPLICATIONS: engineering and energy models, robotics, pattern recognition, image retrieval, applications in
biology, economy and sciences.

IMPORTANT DATES:
Abstracts should be sent to the organizing committee between February 1 and May 5, 2016. The approval of the
presentation will be communicated to the authors before May 15, 2016.

REGISTRATION FEE:
Delegates $ 180.00 CUC, (150 CUC if paid before May 10, 2016 via bank transfer, see below).
Students: $ 100.00 CUC
The fee includes: welcome cocktail, all the meals that will be supplied during the sessions of the event (snacks
and / or coffee breaks, lunch), participation in the work sessions, inclusion of the papers in the proceedings of the
event and certificate of participation.
Accompanying persons: 60.00 CUC
It includes: participation in the welcome cocktail, all the meals that will be supplied during the sessions of the
event, tour of the city and the University of Havana.
