2016 Charity and Development Appeal
May the message of mercy reach everyone,
and may no one be indifferent to the call to experience mercy. – Pope Francis
Thank you to the 903 families who have contributed
$77,349 to the Charity and Development Appeal.
Every gift and prayer is important to those that rely
on CDA to provide services to the community.
It is not too late to make a gift to the CDA. Our parish needs only
$12,651 to make our goal of $90,000. Please consider making
your gift online today at www.diocesephoenix.org/cda or completing a donor envelope. Envelopes can be found at the back of
the church/table outside. Thank you for your support of the
Charity and Development Appeal.
CATHOLIC COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN
Next week, our parish will take up the Collection
for the Catholic Communication Campaign. This
collection communicates the Gospel through Catholic social media activities and enriches our faith
through television, radio, social media, podcasts,
and print media. Half of all proceeds remain in our
diocese and support local needs, so please be generous in this collection.
Safe Environment
Certification is required for all volunteers at Queen of
Peace. Everyone must first take the Foundation class, then a
renewal every other year or every year if you work with
children, are a member of St. Vincent de Paul or the Knights
of Columbus. The following classes will be held in English
at Queen of Peace.

The Phoenix Diocesan Council of
Catholic Women (PDCCW) is preparing for the 2016 “Women
of the Year” and “Young Women of the Year” award ceremony. Each year PDCCW hosts this event to recognize the outstanding ladies who volunteer their time and talents in their parishes.
There are many dedicated and faithful ladies (and young ladies
ages 16-22) serving out there in your parishes, we encourage
you to take this opportunity to nominate them for this award and
let them know how much they are appreciated.
Deadline for nominations is May 13, 2016. Nomination forms
and guidelines for both awards are available on the PDCCW
website at www.PDCCW.com.
Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted will honor the 2016 “Women of the
Year” and “Young Women of the Year” award winners with a
luncheon and Mass at the Cathedral of Ss. Simon and Jude on
June 18, 2016.

his love, peace and joy into our hearts, into
our lives and into the hearts of those who
are poor.

his disciples and us to know and believe the good news of the
