1.. Be at least 18 years old.
2. Be a lawful permanent resident (greencard holder) for 5 years(3 years if
you are married to a U.S.citizen).
3. Have made the U.S. your continuous residencefor 5 years(3 yearsif you
are married to a U.S.citizen).
4. Have been physically presentin the U.S.for at leasthalf of the 5 years (3
years if married to a U.S.citizen) before applying.
5. Have lived in the USCIS district or statein which you are applying for at
least 3 months.
6. Speak, read and write basic English.*
7. Passa test on U.S. history and government. **
