On Tuesday, May 22nd the LAUSD School Board is scheduled
make public their budget plan. They’ve already been forced to
reschedule and modify their positions because they’re feeling
the heat. Whatever they decide, we have already made a huge
impact with our demand that Adult Ed be FULLY FUNDED. And
we will continue to fight until this demand is met.
El martes 22 de mayo la Junta Escolar del LAUSD tiene
programado hacer público su plan presupuestal. Ya se han
visto obligados a postergar su reunión y a modificar sus
posturas porque sienten la presión. Decidan lo que decidan, ya
hemos tenido un gran impacto con nuestra exigencia que se
financie LA TOTALIDAD de nuestros programas. Y seguiremos
luchando hasta que se cumpla este reclamo.
Come help form a “chain of letters” written by students,
teachers and community members, to encircle the Beaudry
building (LAUSD headquarters). This striking image symbolizes
the strength of the bonds formed by Adult Ed programs
throughout society… and that we will not allow a single link in
the chain to be broken. Every class or group can bring their preassembled paper “chain links” to attach together and send this
powerful message.
Vengan a formar una “cadena de cartas”, escritas por
estudiantes, maestros y miembros de la comunidad, para
rodear el edificio Beaudry (sede del LAUSD). Esta imagen
llamativa simboliza los vínculos formados por la Educación de
Adultos en toda la sociedad, y no permitiremos que se rompa ni
un eslabón. Que todo grupo traiga su parte hecha para enlazar
y así mandar este mensaje impactante.
