that hhis fellow Naazarenes in th
he synagogue were blind to

who he really wass. And this made

them maad. They didn
n't
like bbeing told thaat they were wrong.

But Jeesus told them
m
anyw
way. He knew
w that these people needeed to hear th
he
truth, even if it mean that he would
w
be unpo
opular. In factt,
he sppoke the truth
h even at risk of his own life. "They rosse
up, ddrove him outt of the town, and led him to the brow of
o
the hhill on which their town had
h been buillt, to hurl him
m
downn headlong."
It caan be temptting to conffuse Jesus' kindness and
gooddness with paassivity, mistaakenly imagin
ning him as a
persoon who woulld never rufflle any featheers because he
h
was so concerned about bein
ng "nice." This

one-sided
imagge of Jesus caan lead us to
o excuse our own passivity
abouut the falsehood and evil that
t
surround
ds us. We can
justiffy our silencce or inaction
n by convinccing ourselvees
that w
we shouldn't upset anyonee. But the facct is that Jesu
us
upsett people on a regular basiis. That wasn
n't his goal, of
o
coursse, but he waas willing to deal
d with resiistance for th
he
sake of truth and justice.

CAMPAÑA ANUAL DE PROGRESO 2016
La Campaña Anual del Obispo para los Ministerios dará inicio el
próximo mes, los fines de semana del 6 y 7 de febrero. Es hora
de que hagamos lo que podamos para ofrecer nuestro apoyo a
nuestros 17
ministerios y
sigamos los
pasos
del
Papa Francisco, ofreciendo misericordia a través de un donativo y
la oración para una apelación exitosa. A nuestra parroquia se
le ha dado la oportunidad de recaudar la cantidad de $12,177 este
año. Cada contribución
cuenta y cada
dólar que
nosotros planteamos apoyará a los seminaristas que están
estudiando, sin dejar de educar y ordenar nuevos diáconos,
proporcionar formación religiosa para niños y jóvenes y apoyar
a nuestro
Programa
de Paz
y
Justicia.
PETICIÓN DE CENTRO NAZARET
El Centro de Refugio de Migrantes Nazaret todavía necesita ropa
para tiempo de invierno. Por favor traigan estos artículos al salón
parroquial. También necesitan mochilas, bolsas de gimnasio o
bolsas del mandado (las que cuestan $1.00), favor de traerlas

ENTRENAMIENTO DE AMBIENTE SEGURO
PARA PADRES
Tendremos una sesión de entrenamiento de ambiente seguro
VIRTUS obligatoria para aquellos padres cuyos hijos están
matriculados en cualquiera de nuestros programas de formación
religiosa. Este entrenamiento se llevara a cabo el domingo, 31 de
enero después de las 10:30 a.m. y el martes, 2 de febrero a las
6:00 p.m. Los padres pueden tomar una de estas dos sesiones. Las
clases serán en el salón parroquial.
Las lecturas de este domingo nos ayudan
a comprender que Dios es el que lo sabe
todo de nosotros nos conoce hasta el
fondo de nuestro corazón. También se
nos recuerda nuestra vocación de
profetas. Dios tiene un proyecto para
cada uno de nosotros. Como en el caso de Jeremías en la
primera lectura. Como Jesús mismo lo demostró en la sinagoga
de su pueblo. Y como nos lo explica Pablo anunciando la
importancia del amor en nuestra vocación de cristianos. En la
actualidad la sociedad sufre de la enfermedad de crisis
emocionales, de tensiones a causa de que la persona no se
siente aceptada y cree que nació por casualidad olvidándose
que alguien nos ha pensado desde la eternidad. Dios no se
equivoca, estamos aquí para mejorar y cooperar por un mundo
mejor.
"Desde antes de formarte en el seno materno, te conozco; desde
antes de que nacieras, te consagré como profeta para las
naciones" (Jer 1, 4). Lo demás es lo de menos hay que ser
positivos y personas de esperanza en toda circunstancia. No
podemos ignorar ni echar en saco roto la misión que Dios nos
confía. En el Evangelio de hoy Jesús nos da ejemplo al
reconocerse como profeta y vive y actúa como tal. ¿Eres
consciente de la misión que Dios te ha encomendado? ¿Luchas
con esfuerzo verdadero por seguir la vocación que Dios te ha
encomendado? Padre o madre de familia, sacerdote, o
religioso, hombres y mujeres estamos llamados a llevar la
gracia del Señor. No seamos como los nazarenos que solo
tenían curiosidad y su fe en Jesús andaba muy lejos de él.
