Sequoyah Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) proudly sponsors:
Dear Families,
st
th
Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair will take place from Monday, March 31 to Friday, April 4 .
As in the past, we have the opportunity to bring more books to our students and classrooms. Scholastic
calls it “All for Books™! By donating money to All for Books, you can help connect more kids with books
they want to read. Helping out is simple. Just send a donation of any amount and this form with your
child’s name and class. All of the money collected goes directly to purchasing books for our school’s
library.
We will display the student’s name at our Book Fair. In appreciation of their efforts, the two classes that
contribute the most money will be treated to a celebration during their media special.
The All for Books money we collect also helps readers beyond our school and community. Scholastic
Book Fairs matches monetary donations with a donation of up to one million books to two non-profit
organizations dedicated to helping children, families, and teachers acquire books and educational
resources — Kids In Need Foundation and Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc.
On behalf of the PTA and Book Fair Committee, THANK YOU!
Please print student’s Name and Class below
(Send this form back with your donation)

SEQUOYAH’S GOT TALENT!
Everything you need to know about Sequoyah’s Talent Show ...
The PTA would like to invite the students and staff of Sequoyah Elementary to participate in this spectacular
event that we haven’t had in many, many years!
Guidelines for Acts
We welcome dancing, singing, piano playing, musical productions, juggling, baton twirling, martial arts, gymnastic
demonstrations, skits and more. Be creative! Group acts are encouraged. Acts should be 1 ½ to 2 minutes long.
Auditions
Auditions will be held on Thursday, April 3rd during all recess periods. The location will be announced the day of
auditions. You MUST come to this audition and show us your talent if you want to be in the Show, even if we
already saw you last Thursday. We just need to see a short version of your act (30 seconds), but you must show us
something. And, you MUST have your permission slip with you at auditions (see bottom of paper).
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be announced shortly and will take place after school. The schedule will be provided next week.
We will try to get in one or two rehearsals before Spring Break. All students must have a parent pick them up after
rehearsal or make other arrangements for pickup. Attendance is mandatory. Many volunteer hours go into this
project and we would appreciate your commitment as well. During these rehearsals, we will also be putting
together a group finale for everyone to participate in. Show date, time and location to be determined shortly.
If you have any questions about the Show, or wish to help, please call Andi Dumas at 301-330-9633 or email
[email protected]. All students must turn in the permission slip below if they want to audition for the Show.

My child has my permission to participate in the 2014 Talent Show. By signing this form my child and I understand the
commitment involved and he/she will attend all school rehearsals and time will be provided in his/her schedule for extra
rehearsals at home with his/her friends. All acts will be choreographed at home. The rehearsals at school are provided to
give all performers an opportunity to practice their finished act on “stage”, fine tune the act, and bring the entire cast
together as a whole to learn the finale. I understand the rehearsals are closed to only children in the show and the parents
who are helping out with the show.
