Christ’s Blood Sows The Seed of Love
All those who offer any suffering for the world are
one. They live together as one body in Christ.
Christ on the cross is the oneness of our world. In
him, our individual suffering is integrated in one
redeeming act of love. In the crucified Christ, the
Christs of every nation meet as one. This oneness
in the Passion of Christ is the love that is
redeeming the world. A Christian has no enemies.
Those who formerly wounded one another bleed
together from the same wounds, the wounds of the
crucified Christ. Poured again from his wounds, the
blood sows the seed of love into the world. In
Christ, those who rise will come together and greet
each other with his greeting, “Peace be to you.”
—Caryll Houselander The Passion of the Infant
Christ
What can I do today to alleviate the sufferings of
those around me?
