EJERCICIO 1 Descripción y Narración TAREA 1: Imagine que Ud. está comisionado en Kampala (Uganda), en la misión de la Unión Europea que se encarga de formar al ejército somalí. Escriba un e-­‐mail al compañero británico (Lt. Jones) que ocupará su puesto en el siguiente relevo describiéndolo las instalaciones donde está alojado y el campamento donde recibe instrucción el personal somalí. Dear Lt. Jones,
To answer your questions about the location where we are living and working, I have to answer
that, generally speaking, it has everything you should need to live according to Western standards.
Food is good and is served three times a day in a big dining room. Sorry, there is no tea at five…
You will stay at a big enough shared room. Your room mate will be probably a nice Polish guy.
There is a bathroom to share every two rooms, that is, every four officers.
There is also a no too bad gym and, a big plot around the compound to run or practice your
favorite open-air activity. This is the same place where Somalis have their accommodation (big
tents) and the “training facility”, I mean, just a huge plain plot and a whiteboard under a tree.

Perhaps you have a blurred image on him. Cpt. Smith is a really skilled officer, a team leader to
learn with and quite funny. He is blonde and tall, around 5.7 ft., and has a really good physical
training despite being in his early forties.
His worst point, from my viewpoint, is his hard Welsh accent what reminds me of you and the good
old times in France.

The funny thing was when, at the end of the briefing, the Ambassador asked the Senior Somali
officer about the well-being during their stay in Uganda and the Somali was unable to understand a
single word. It was something strange because that officer is the only one with English language
knowledge because he was a taxi driver in New York, some time ago. Well, that´s the new Somali
Army…

Comentario: Cumple last areas de descripción y narración. Tenga cuidado en la narración en
pasado porque un verbo estaba en presente.
Como puede ver en las notas azules debe repasar el uso de las preposiciones y la puntuación.
