STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
First Sunday in Lent — The waters of Baptism make us part
of the new covenant in Christ. But the bishops’ pastoral letter
on stewardship reminds us that “there is a fundamental obligation arising from the Sacrament of Baptism…that the people
place their gifts, their resources — their selves — at God’s
service in and through the Church.”
GOD’S POWER
We are not in our power, but in the power of God.
—St. Perpetua
In Our Prayers
We remember in prayer our friends and loved ones in active
military duty , both in and out of harms way, in the service of
their/our country. Pray for peace in the world and for our leaders.
OUR HOLY FATHER’S PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR FEB.
General Intention — Access to Water. That all peoples
may have access to water and other resources needed for
daily life.
Mission Intention — Health Workers. That the Lord may
sustain the efforts of health workers assisting the sick and
elderly in the world’s poorest regions.
MASS INTENTIONS FOR 2012 ARE BEING ACCEPTED
We are accepting Mass Intentions for 2012. If you would like
to offer this great prayer, stop by the office to schedule your Intentions. We ask that you consider having weekday mass scheduled as well. Even if you cannot attend, your prayer intentions
are being offered. We need Mass Intentions for the 7:00 PM
Thursday’s Spanish Masses.
SANCTUARY CANDLE
The Sanctuary Candle will burn in memory of Dr.
Don Kurbricht February 22 through April 11,
requested by his family.
ALTAR FLOWERS
The parish thanks family of Victoria Corona
for the altar flowers this past weekend.
KEEPING THE PROMISE ALIVE
VIRTUS REFRESHER
The Archdiocese is requiring an updated training for Virtus. The updated training class is
called “Keeping the Promise Alive”. The one
and a half our classes are being offered throughout the Archdiocese. If you originally had the
training during the years 2003-2005, you are required to take the refresher course by December
of 2012 in order to continue in ministries that
involve children and youth under the age of 18.
A KPA workshop will be offered on May 15th at
6:30 PM at St. Stanislaus Parish Hall. Arrive 30
minutes before class time. No late comers admittance. You will need to re-schedule if you arrive
late. Go to www.virtus.org to register.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK
February 26, 2012, First Sunday of Lent
Grant, almighty God,
through the yearly observances of holy Lent,
that we may grow in understanding
of the riches hidden in Christ
and by worthy conduct pursue their effects.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Reflection question:
What Lenten observances do I intend to keep this year?
