SELVA
“Metal from the Middle of the World”
SELVA is one of the most solid and prolific musical projects in Ecuador. With
an extensive background of hard work in composition, sound design and
performance, that consolidates their reputation, their name and the quality
of their shows and publications.
Actually,
SELVA
has
turned
to
a
constant
space
of
creation
and
personal/professional growth. SELVA is today a platform to create ties and
channel high vibration messages and awareness to the public who lives the
music with the sound intensity of “metal” music inside and out of Ecuador.
“Cuatrotreintaydos” is the materialization of two years of musical work and
constant motion on every level. It is the reflex of the moments, sensations
and actions of these four individuals who find in the “musical experience” a
tool to recognize themselves and desire to share this experience possibility
with the audience. “Cuatrotreintaydos” is another step in the sound
progression and evolution that the band has been developing through
fifteen years of musical carreer.
WHY “CUATROTREINTAYDOS”?
“Music based on C=128Hz (C note in concert A=432Hz) will support
humanity on its way towards spiritual freedom. The inner ear of the human
being is built on C=128 Hz” – Rudolph Steiner
The ancient knowledge suggests that the frequency A=432Hz generates
vibrations according to the principals of harmonic natural sound waves and
unifies
with
the
properties
of
light,
space,
matter,
gravity
and
electromagnetism. Within many fields, this frequency has a connotation
linked to mental, psychic and physical benefit because of the vibrations that
resonate in unison and harmonically along with the universe (atoms) and
the human beings (cells).
Nowadays, the instruments are tuned in 440Hz. This frequency generates
only 8 of the 12 harmonics in a note; simultaneously this tuning produces
an unstable psychic operation which by custom, we have ceased to
perceive.
In 432Hz, it can be achieved to generate the 12 harmonics in a note putting
in resonance the 12 notes of the musical scale which at the same time
accord with the natural planetary resonance (Schumman´s Resonance),
which is of 8Hz. Alpha waves are also of 8Hz when the brain is in deep relax
benefiting the human being in deeper levels.
SELVA is a band that pretends to carry a message of evolution and human
consciousness through music and the energy and intensity of Metal, which
is a powerful vehicle to create spaces of harmonic resonance.
With this album, the band intention is to contribute with the production of
both national and international music, creating a sonic experience under the
theoretical and practical parameters that the 432Hz tuning vibrations bring
within, expressing it also in a graphic level.
To resonate with music and make the public resonate with this high
vibration energy is the band outcome. It is what we are looking forward as
a dynamic with our audience.
SELVA is a musical/vibrational project to contribute in the development of
human consciousness to help us wake from those particular things that
controls and keeps us from being better everyday.
BIOGRAPHY

1999 - creation of the band
•
2000 – Recording of the EP “Mantram”, mentioned as “National
Revelation band 2000” given by the Metro Stereo Radio station.
•
August / 2002 – Premieres their first Album “LA RADIO CONTRA LA
CABEZA” Awarded as “National Best Band 2001” by Metro Stereo
Radio Station.

2004 – Record the EP called “SELVA”.
•
October / 2005 – Launched their first music video “Atrapados”
•
Enero / 2006 – Awarded as Best Video 2005 Alternative music
category, By “Mis Bandas Nacionales (Ecuador)” organized by TV HOY
TV channel, HOT 106 radio station and the Metropolitan Mayoralty of
Quito.
•
2006 - The “Atrapados” video clip was selected to be projected
during the International Animation Film Show, “Animac” (Spain). Also
formed part of the CLIPS session for which we had the collaboration
of the program LOOPS from Catalunyan Television (Spain).
•
Junio / 2009 - Launched the second album of the band called “LUZ”.
•
2011 – The Video “Atrapados” went into rotation in MTV Latin
America
•
2011 - SELVA received the recognition to their music in the category
“Pesos Pesados” (heavy weights) in the “Ecuador es lo máximo”
Awards given by “Radio Pública del Ecuador” (Ecuador Public Radio).

2012
–The
band
initiates
the
production
and
composition
of
“Cuatrotreintaydos”.
•
2014 – Selva launches their new production “Cuatrotreintaydos”
locally and internationally through online stores such as iTunes,
Bandcamp and Spotify.

WHO WE ARE
The style of Selva is based in various concepts such as: power, dynamism,
evolution; closer to a fusion of all the genres that inspires us inside heavy
Rock and Metal.
Their music is a “selva” (jungle) of influences; it is a very organic Heavy
Rock that is influenced by metal, trash, power, neo-metal, hard rock,
groove and hardcore.
