Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension

NIGHTTIME CLOSURE OF
EASTBOUND FOOTHILL BOULEVARD
WHAT
Crews continue to construct the new bridges over Foothill Boulevard in the City of Azusa, as part of the 11.5mile Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension light rail project. A nighttime closure of eastbound Foothill Boulevard
at the railroad bridge is required to shift the traffic lanes for the continued bridge construction. The bridge
construction is anticipated to be completed in June 2014.
WHEN
• Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 9:00 pm until Friday, January 17, 2014 at 5:00 am: Eastbound Foothill
Boulevard will be closed to thru-traffic between Vernon Ave and Orange Ave. Traffic will be detoured and
signage will be posted to direct motorists.
• Additional closures will be implemented in the coming months; construction notices will be distributed prior
to the closures taking place.
TRAFFIC ADVISORIES
• Eastbound Foothill Boulevard will be closed to thru-traffic between Vernon Ave and Orange Ave (during
the night of January 16 at 9:00 pm until the following morning at 5:00 am). During the closure, traffic will
be detoured and signage will be posted to direct motorists.
• The sidewalk will remain accessible to pedestrians on the north side of Foothill Boulevard during the
closure.
NOTE TO RESIDENTS / BUSINESS OWNERS
• Noise from construction equipment will be produced near the active work zones.
• Lighting equipment used to illuminate the nighttime work will be directed towards the work zones.

Trabajadores continúan con la construcción de los puentes nuevos sobre el bulevar Foothill en la Ciudad de
Azusa, como parte de la construcción de 11.5 millas del proyecto de tren ligero Metro Gold Line Extensión
Foothill. Se requiere un cierre del bulevar Foothill hacia el este para realizar el cambio de carriles de tráfico.
La construcción de los puentes es proyecta ser completada en junio de 2014.
CUANDO
• Jueves, 16 de enero de 2014 a las 9:00 pm hasta el viernes, 17 de enero de 2014 a las 5:00 am: Se
implementara un cierre del bulevar Foothill (hacia el este) entre las avenidas Vernon y Orange. El transito
será desviado y letreros serán fijados para dirigir a los automovilistas.
• Cierres adicionales se implementarán en los próximos meses; avisos de construcción adicionales serán
proporcionados antes de que los cierres tomen lugar.
IMPACTOS AL TRANSITO
• El bulevar Foothill (hacia el este) entre las avenidas Vernon y Orange se mantendrá cerrado al tránsito
