FAREWELL TO DEEPA KINGRY
We are saying “Good Bye” to Deepa after 4 years of dedicated
service to the teens of our parish. Deepa is trading in her service
hat as the Coordinator of Life Teen for a nun’s veil. Discerning
God’s call to live out her life as a Dominican Nun has been a true
journey of faith.
Deepa will certainly be missed for she has contributed much to the spiritual formation
of our teens. Let us pledge to pray for Deepa for a lifetime of fulfillment as she lives out
her religious vocation.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (Educación Religiosa Vida Parroquial)
Family Movie Night
PSR will be hosting Family Movie Night on Friday, June 8th.
The feature presentation is Madagascar 2.
The doors open at 6:30 PM; the movie starts at 7:00 PM.
Families are welcome to bring blankets or sleeping bags
and wear pajamas. There will be a concession stand selling
popcorn, pizza, hot dogs, drinks and more.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
No drop offs.

Invitamos a todas las familias a una Noche de Película Familiar el
8 de Junio. Las puertas abren a las 6:30pm y la película comienza a las 7:00pm. Pueden

HELP BUILD HOPE (Ayuda a Construir Esperanza)
Fundraising and volunteer sign-up has begun for the construction of
St. Thomas’ 19th Habitat for Humanity home. Join with the STA
Habitat ministry, other area churches, synagogues, and an Islamic
mosque, that make up the Cobb Interfaith Habitat Coalition, to
provide one of life’s basic needs, affordable housing. Beginning in
late July, we will join with the Coalition and the future homeowners, a
working poor family, to build a new home in Marietta. Between now and
July, STA needs your help to meet its financial and volunteer commitments for the Habitat
house.
Please consider a $30 donation, or give what you can. Donation envelopes are located in
the Media Center in Commons. Make checks payable to “Saint Thomas”; write “Habitat” in
the “memo” line and place the envelope in the weekly offertory collection.
We also need 100 volunteers to help with construction; no special skills are required (onthe-job training will be provided). Volunteers to help with scheduling workers or to help
provide breakfast or lunch for one week are also needed. To volunteer, please fill out a
volunteer form located in Commons.

Today’s Gospel Reflection
Read Sunday’s gospel, John 20:19-23.
Reflection for Families
Parents are often the source of hope and
encouragement for their children. When a
child falls repeatedly while learning to walk or
ride a bike, it is a parent who coaxes,
encourages and praises the child. Parents
provide hope and comfort when a child falls
short of a goal either in academics,
relationships, sports, or the arts. Parents can
relate to the role of Jesus with his disciples.
They were frightened and discouraged but
they found hope and relief with the peace and
presence of Jesus.
Bringing the Gospel into Your Family
Using the newspaper, news broadcast, or
situations you know about, share ideas about
people in the world or your community who
might be discouraged. Suggest ways either in
prayer or by action that your family might bring
hope to these (or some) people.
