Priests On Retreat
The Augustinians will be on retreat at Villanova Prep School
all this week. There will be 6:30a.m. Mass as usual and a
Communion Service at 9:00 a.m.-no 9:00a.m. Mass. Please
remember to include our priest in your prayers this week.
“Did you Know”
That St. Vincent de Paul Society helped 40
households through the open pantry last month.
That the roof on the church and hall are being
repaired this summer and that the parking lot will be
refurbished.
That the festival brought in $27,000 net. Many
thanks to all who contributed to this parish event. We
still have the rummage sale to go on July 1st and 2nd
Two will be ordained to the Clergy
Ronnie Custorio will be ordained a Priest on Saturday, June 11th.
Bishop Dan Turley will be officiating the Mass here at 10:30am.
Followed by a light lunch reception in the Aquinas Center. Please call
the parish office to let us know if you will attending the reception
on that day.
Joaquin Lara will be ordained a Deacon on Saturday, July 16th, at
the Cathedral in Los Angeles. A potluck reception will be offered in
his honor, in Aquinas Center later in the day for our
parishioners to congratulate. Come and celebrate!

Altar Servers Training
For all Adults and Children who want to Volunteer as an
Altar Sever or are already serving in our Church. There will
be an Altar Servers Training on Sunday, June 5th after the
10:30 a.m. Mass.

A new face; new responsibilities
I am happy to announce that Mrs.
Aina Yates will be taking on the responsibilities of
guiding the religious formation programs for the
parish dealing with primary, preteen, and young adult
education and sacramental preparation. She will also
help me with adult education and ,youth ministry

will be selling at the 10:30 Mass.
Special thanks to Javier Ramirez, Aina Yates, and the

Rummage Sale July 1st & 2nd
There will be a Rummage Sale with
boutique and plant booths. Food will also
be sold. We are now accepting your
donations of furniture clothes and more…. Volunteers are
needed for set up on June 26th, and sorting during the week
Monday, through Thursday, sales on July 1st and 2nd and
clean up. If you would like to help, Please call the parish
office at 805-646-4338. There also will be a volunteer
sign-up sheet after all masses.
All the profits from the food sales will go to the Youth
Ministry as well as retreats and Religious Educations needs.
Summer Bible Camp Is Coming!
There will be a Summer Bible Camp for
children in grades Kindergarten through fifth
grade from Monday, June 13, through Friday,
June 17th from 9:00a.m to noon in Bethany
Hall. The theme for this year’s camp is Fishers of Men. The
fee will be $10 a child and registrations will take place on
Sunday June 12 after The Masses. Please call the Religious

Venta Anual de Segunda en nuestra
Parroquia de Santo Tomas de Aquinas.
1 y 2 de Julio será la venta de segunda con venta de
curiosidades, plantas, y por supuesto habrá también venta de
comida.
Estamos aceptando todas sus donaciones de muebles ropa y
lo que guste donar para ayudar a la venta de
Segunda.
Se necesitan voluntarios para ayudar en diferentes aéreas

limpieza.

un nuevo rostro; nuevas
responsabilidades
Estoy feliz de anunciarles que la Señora
Aina Yates tomará las responsabilidades de guiar los
programas de educación religiosa de la parroquia
trabajando con primaria, adolecentes, y educación para
adultos jóvenes y preparación sacramental. También
me ayudara en educación de adultos y equipos de
ministerio juvenil. Ella va a tener el plato lleno. Así que
parte de su trabajo será animar a personas de la
parroquia para que ayuden. Necesitamos catequistas
que tengan la voluntad de recibir entrenamiento para
tener su certificación, así como personas voluntarias
que ayuden en los salones de catequesis. Note que he
usado la palabra "equipos" en lo que se relaciona con
ministerio para jóvenes y educación de adultos.
También le estoy dando prioridades a aquellas aéreas
de la vida parroquial, porque necesitamos construir
para el futuro. Les pido que tomen parte activa en esta
edificación. En Agosto les diré en qué necesitamos su
ayuda.

familias a través de la despensa abierta el mes

FIESTA DE LA FE
Plegaria universal
La Liturgia de la Palabra concluye con una oración de
petición llamada Plegaria universal u Oración universal. El
pueblo la identifica como “Peticiones”, porque son oraciones
de petición que se dirigen a Dios en nombre de toda la
Iglesia, rogándole “por la salvación de todos”. Estas
oraciones siguen una estructura muy sencilla: Por y para,
concluyendo con la fórmula: roguemos al Señor, a la que el
pueblo
responde, Te lo pedimos Señor o con otra respuesta
semejante. Estas plegarias tienen un orden propio. Pedimos
primero por las necesidades de la Iglesia, como institución;
por los jefes de Estado y quienes gobiernan el mundo en
todos sus niveles; por las personas que sufren cualquier tipo
de opresión, sea económica, física, mental, de salud, de
libertad de conciencia, de falta de expresión, de
marginación, etcétera. El cuarto momento de esta oración
está directamente enfocado a las necesidades de la comunidad local y, este es precisamente el momento de recordar
nuestros difuntos. Este es el momento de presentar nuestras necesidades particulares, sea en voz alta o en voz baja,
según lo indique quien preside la litúrgica, sea
eucarística o sacramental. Estas plegarias pueden también
cantarse de tal forma que favorezcan la participación del
pueblo.
Sacerdotes en Retiro
Los agustinos estarán en retiro toda esta
semana en la escuela preparatoria Villanova.
Habrá Misa de 6:30 a.m. como de costumbre
y un Servicio de Comunión a las 9:00 am. No
habrá Misa de 9:00 a.m. Por favor, recuerde
incluir nuestro sacerdote en sus oraciones de
esta semana.
Grupo de Oración
Grupo de Oración se reúnen todos los
Martes a las 7:00 de la noche en uno de los
Salones de Bethany Hall.

disponible todo el año. Puedes bajarla en la página
de internet de la iglesia. También puede pasar a la
