Ubicada en el extremo noreste de la región Litoral, la provincia de Misiones se encuentra a 1.615 Km. de
Buenos Aires, tomando como referencia a Puerto Iguazú, su principal centro turístico.
Es una provincia conocida internacionalmente por acoger al Parque Nacional Iguazú (Patrimonio de la
Humanidad), donde se encuentran las famosas Cataratas del Iguazú, uno de los caudales de agua más
importantes del mundo.
Toda la provincia es un destino propicio para las actividades de aventura y su parque nacional es, sin lugar a
dudas, un espacio privilegiado para realizar safaris y avistajes. Entre la diversidad de especies que habitan la
región se destacan los tucanes multicolores y los loros del monte, los pumas, los yaguaretés y una gran
diversidad de pájaros. Además, se ofrecen recorridos que se realizan en el tren turístico ó en forma
de caminatas guiadas, durante el día o a la luz de la luna llena.
Misiones también alberga el legado cultural de las Misiones Jesuíticas Guaraníes y a sus impactantes ruinas
arqueológicas en exhibición. La Ruta de la Yerba Mate es otro circuito de gran atractivo. Los principales
establecimientos yerbateros se concentran en esta parte del país y abren sus puertas para contar los procesos
de elaboración y los secretos e historias que permiten comprender la importancia cultural de esta típica bebida
argentina.
Además, como resultado de una ininterrumpida migración, se puede encontrar un calidoscopio cultural y étnico
de incomparable pluralidad, que contiene unas 29 etnias diferentes y que celebra esta particularidad en la fiesta
nacional del inmigrante que se realiza todos los años en la ciudad de Oberá. Otras comarcas a la vera de los
ríos o la visita a una mina subterránea de piedras semipreciosas son algunas ideas más, para planificar un
viaje perfecto.

Located at the northeastern extreme of the Litoral region, the province of Misiones is 1.615 kms far from Buenos
Aires, taking as reference Puerto Iguazú, its most important touristic center.
This province is internationally known because it hosts the Iguazú National Park (Patrimony of Mankind) where the
famous Iguazú Falls are found. The province as a whole is a destination suitable for adventure and its national park
is, beyond doubts, a privileged place for safaris and sightseeing.
Among the diversity of species that inhabit the region, we find multicolor toucans and parrots, pumas, yaguaretes and
a wide variety of birds. During daylight or in the evenings there are guided walks or touristic train tours.
Misiones also hosts the cultural heritage of the Guarani Jesuit Missions with their impressive archaeological
ruins. The Yerba Mate Route is another attractive circuit. This region concentrates the main yerba mate factories with
their doors open to show their elaboration processes and the secrets and stories that help to understand the cultural
importance of this Argentine beverage.

El clima en las Cataratas:
Si bien la zona de las Cataratas de Iguazú poseen un clima subtropical, en invierno hay días que son
fríos (cuando sopla el viento sur). Por tal motivo si viaja en invierno siempre es bueno llevar algún
abrigo.Durante el verano suele haber días extremadamente calurosos, las personas que no están
acostumbradas al calor extremo pueden sufrir golpes de calor, deshidratación, insolación, etc. Se
recomienda beber abundante líquido.

Although the Iguazu Falls area has a subtropical climate, in winter you can get cold days (especially when
the south wind blows). That's why if you travel in winter it is always good to bring some warm clothes.
During the summer days are extremely hot, so if you aren't used to extreme heat you could suffer a
heatstroke, dehydration, sunstroke, etc. You should drink plenty of fluids to avoid this.

En el centro de la ciudad, en lo que se podría considerar su casco histórico o pilar fundacional, se emplazan
construcciones que datan de varias décadas. Entre éstas aparecen la Casa del Pionero, el Paseo de la Identidad y el
Paseo de la Artesanía, invitándote a recorrer y comprar algún recuerdo realizado por los artesanos de esta región.
Ubicados sobre la calle Jangadero, entre Santa Fe y Corrientes, resulta imperdible visitar los orquidarios. Allí, la
belleza y el misterio de la naturaleza sorprenden con el colorido y las formas que adoptan este tipo de plantas, que
se cuentan entre las más seductoras para los estudiosos.
Otro lugar ideal para visitar es la zona del puerto, emplazada sobre una pequeña playa, donde encontrará un
conjunto de balsas, botes y algún catamarán que te invitan a navegar por el colorido río Iguazú, en el lugar exacto
donde se une con el majestuoso río Paraná.
Puerto Iguazú’s downtown, considered the historical city center and foundational pillar, boasts buildings dating from
several decades ago. Some of these buildings are the Casa del Pionero, the Paseo de la Identidad and the Paseo de
la Artesanía circuits, where you can shop for hand-made souvenirs.
It is not to be missed the orchidariums, located on Jangadero street, between Santa Fe and Corrientes streets. The
color and shape of vegetation, and Nature’s beauty and mystery are a haven for enthusiasts.
The port area, located on a small beach, is another “must see”. There, rafts, boats and catamaran cruises take
visitors along the colorful Iguazú River, to the exact spot where it merges with the majestic Paraná River.

Diariamente se realizan diversas excursiones en el Parque Nacional Iguazú. Este impresionante paisaje, ubicado a
17 kilómetros de Puerto Iguazú, posee alrededor de 67.620 hectáreas y fue declarado Patrimonio Natural de la
Humanidad por la UNESCO debido a la gran diversidad biológica de la selva subtropical.
El río Iguazú tiene un recorrido total de 1.320 kilómetros hasta su desembocadura en el río Paraná, a 23 kilómetros,
detrás de las cataratas. Enmarcado por costas bajas, este río tiene en la mayor parte de su recorrido, un ancho que
varía desde los 500 hasta los 1.000 metros. Dentro del Parque Nacional, se ensancha a unos 1.500 metros y se
tuerce hacia el sur para luego retomar hacia el norte, formando una amplia “U” que contiene en su desembocadura
un abrupto desnivel en el terreno, dando lugar a las cataratas con imponentes caídas de agua. En su gran curva,
una proliferación de escollos, islotes y alargadas islas fragmentan el río en numerosos brazos. Al llegar al barranco,
cada uno de ellos da lugar a un salto, constituyendo en su conjunto el gran abanico que son las Cataratas del
Iguazú. Ubicadas en el corazón de la selva misionera, este prodigio de la naturaleza posee 275 saltos de agua que
atrae a millones de turistas de todas partes del mundo.
En la orilla del río Iguazú y en las islas del delta podés descubrir diversas especies tales como el curupay, el cupay,
el laurel blanco, el aguay y el ingá, como así también el ceibo, cuya flor fue declarada flor nacional argentina.
La flora arbórea del Parque Nacional Iguazú tiene más de 90 especies, como el lapacho negro (que a fines del
invierno y antes de echar hojas se cubre completamente de flores rosadas), el lapacho amarillo, el ibirá pytá (de
flores amarillas) y una especie selvática de ceibo con flores de color rojo-anaranjado.
Different excursions take place daily at the Iguazú National Park. This outstanding landscape, only 17 km (10 mi)
from Puerto Iguazú, has around 67,620 hectares (167,092.66 acres) and was declared World Natural Heritage site by
UNESCO due to the wide biological diversity of the subtropical jungle.
The length of the Iguazú River totals 1,320 km (820 mi) to its estuary on the Paraná River, 23 km (14 mi) away
behind the waterfalls. Surrounded by low coasts, the river width ranges from 500 to 1,000 meters. Inside the park, it
widens to 1,500 meters and turns south before resuming a northerly direction, forming a broad “U” with an abrupt
drop in its estuary, where the breathtaking waterfalls are born. A proliferation of reefs, islets and long islands on its
curve break the river into several arms. Reaching the gully, each arm becomes a waterfall, therefore creating the
great Iguazú Falls. In the central area of Misiones rainforest, this wonder of nature features 275 waterfalls that attract
millions of tourists all over the world.
Several species such as the curupay (Anadenanthera Colubrina), the cupay (Copaifera Langsdorfi), the white laurel
(Nerium Oleander), the aguay (Chrysophylum Lucumifolium), theingá (Inga Uruguensis), and the cockspur coral tree
or ceibo, whose flower was declared Argentine National Flower, grow in the banks of the Iguazú River and in the
delta islands.

There are over 90 species of trees at the Iguazú National Park, such as the lapacho negro(Tabehuia ipe), which
produces numerous pink flowers at the end of the winter before growing leaves, the lapacho amarillo (Tabebuia
Amarillo), the ibirá pytá (Peltophorum dubium) with yellow flowers, and a wild species of ceibo, with orange red
flowers.
Las aves más características de las Cataratas del Iguazú son los vencejos de cascada, que atraviesan volando los
intersticios de las columnas de agua de las cataratas, para posarse sobre la pared rocosa, donde descansan e
incluso anidan. En el sector de las pasarelas es frecuente encontrar grupos de coatíes y al tucán grande, que es una
de las cinco especies de tucanes en el parque. En los senderos se puede observar una gran variedad de mariposas.
El Parque es un refugio en el territorio nacional que alberga animales amenazados de extinción como el yaguareté o
jaguar, el tapir, el ocelote, el oso hormiguero, pavas de monte como la yacutinga, águilas selváticas y el yacaré
overo, entre otras.

The fall swifts (Streptoprocne semicollaris) are typical of this area. They fly across the waterfalls to rest over the rocky
walls where they even have their nests. It is very common to find groups of coatis and birds such as the big toucan,
one of the five species that live in the park, along the sidewalks. There is also a great variety of butterflies.
The park is a national sanctuary home to endangered species such as jaguars (yaguareté), tapirs, ocelots, anteaters,
dusky-legged guanslike the yacutinga, wild eagles and alligators like the yacaré overo (Caiman latirostris) among
others.

El Aeropuerto Internacional de Puerto Iguazú se encuentra a 17 kilómetros de la ciudad y a 7 kilómetros del Parque
Nacional Iguazú.
Además, Puerto Iguazú está vinculado a través del Puente Internacional Tancredo Neves con Brasil y la Ciudad del
Este en la República del Paraguay. Posee conectividad aérea con las principales ciudades de la región.
El Aeropuerto Internacional Iguazú recibe 12 vuelos diarios, que se suman a los 24 que recibe el Aeropuerto
Internacional de Foz de Iguazú, ubicado a tan sólo 20 km. De la ciudad de Puerto Iguazú.
Puerto Iguazú International Airport is 17 km (10 mi) away from the city and 7 km (4 mi) from the Iguazú National Park.
The city is also connected with Brazil and Ciudad del Este, in Paraguay, by means of the Trancredo Neves
international bridge. Connectivity with main cities in South America.
Iguazú International Airport receives 12 daily flights, in addition to the 24 that the International Airport Foz de Iguazú

HITO TRES FRONTERAS
El Hito Tres Fronteras es un lugar
turístico, ubicado a pocas cuadras del
centro de la ciudad de Puerto Iguazú. El
Hito se encuentra emplazado en la
confluencias de los ríos Iguazú y Paraná.
Desde el lugar se pueden observar las
costas de Brasil y Paraguay, en dichas
costas, existe un obelisco similar pintado
con los colores nacionales de Argentina,
Brasil y Paraguay.
Three Borders Landmark is a touristic sight located a few blocks from downtown Puerto Iguazú, Argentina. The
Landmark is at the confluence of the Iguazú and Parana rivers. From the Argentinean coast, you can see
the Brazilian and Paraguayan coasts. There are three similar obelisks at each border, each painted with the national
colors of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

mostrarnos LO QUE ESTAMOS PERDIENDO y
como, desde el desinterés y falta de preocupación
por el cuidado de nuestro ambiente, vamos a ser
victimas de nuestra propia trampa.
Built from salvaged trees trade and illegal timber felling
and inspired by a typical trap of Guaraní peoples, "The
Aripuca" prevails with its 17 meters high and more than
500,000 Kgs of weight distributed in 30 species native to
the jungle Missionary, many ancient trees, grouped to
show us what we are losing and as, from the indifference
and lack of concern for the care of our environment, we
will be victims of our own trap.
IGUAZU FOREST
Es una empresa de Eco-Turismo y Turismo Aventura ubicado en un lugar
único por sus características y ubicación geográfica, localizado sobre las
márgenes del río Paraná, a tan sólo 7 Km. de la Ciudad de Iguazú y a 15
Km. de las Cataratas más extraordinarias de la Tierra, se encuentran
interesantes Circuitos Eco-Turísticos, únicos en el área de las tres
fronteras.
It is an ecotourism and tourism adventure enterpise situated by the
shore of the Paraná river. Its location is very strategic since it is 7km

BIOCENTRO IGUAZÚ
El Biocentro Iguazú es un escenario natural donde se pueden apreciar flores
autóctonas, y además, donde conviven diversas especies: desde boas
gigantes, yacarés, iguanas y hasta un cocodrilo de 3.5 metros de largo.
Con un recorrido a través de senderos prolijamente diseñados en medio
de la vegetación, el visitante podrá tener contacto visual con especies de
todas partes del mundo.
The Iguazú Biocentre is a natural setting where you can see native flowers,
and also, a place where various species, from giant snakes, alligators and
iguanas live together.
With a tour through neatly designed trails, visitors can have eye contact
with species from around the world.
