Preschool News
These last couple of weeks we have been getting to know the children and making
them feel comfortable in school, and the children are adjusting very well! Here are just a
couple reminders:
Fall Into Reading
Throughout the year, our school will have several reading incentive programs. Our new one is “Fall
Into Reading”. We have sent a leaf sheet home. Please write the titles of 20 books you have read with
your child. The leaf sheet needs to be returned no later than November 6th. Participants will receive
a special prize! (Please return them on time, we would not want our preschoolers to feel left out)
Backpacks/Folders
Please check your child’s backpack every night. Some students are coming to school with items that
we sent home still in their folder. Check your child’s folder every day and please send forms that
need to be filled out back to the classroom on the following day. (Students must bring their folder to
school every day)
Labels/On Time
Please remember to put your child’s name on jackets and sweaters. We are finding a lot of sweaters
that look the same with no name.
It is important that your child arrives on time and gets picked up on time.
Dressing
Most days (even when it’s cold outside) we will be going outside to play so please dress your child
appropriately. Girls who wear skirts should wear shorts underneath.
Change of Clothes
We are still missing a change of clothes for some students. Please place clothes including socks and
underwear, in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name on the bag. (Does not have to be uniform)
Progress Reports
We do not give grades in preschool, but we do send home progress reports. These progress reports
are important to both you and the teacher because it gives you a better understanding on what your
child currently knows and needs improvement on. Please work on colors, shapes, counting, number
recognition, and letters and sounds- please visit www.starfall.com /www.abcmouse.com for a fun way
to learn. (We will inform you when progress reports will be sent home – they might be sent home on
a different day then the other grades

Durante las primeras semanas hemos estado conociendo a su hijo/hija, los niños se
están adaptando muy bien ! Éstos son sólo un par de recordatorios :
Fall Into Reading
Nuestra escuela tendrá varios programas de incentivo de lectura. Nuestro nuevo es
"Fall Into Reading". Hemos mandado a casa la hoja donde debe ser devuelto no
más tardar el 6 de noviembre. Los participantes recibirán un premio especial! (Por
favor devolverlos a tiempo)
Mochilas
Por favor revise la mochila de su hijo todas las noches. Algunos estudiantes vienen a
la escuela con los artículos que mandamos a casa todavía en su carpeta.. Por favor,
tómese todo y mantenerlo en casa a menos que se indique lo contrario. (Los
estudiantes deben traer su carpeta/folder a la escuela todos los días.
Reporte de Progreso
No damos grados en preschool, pero sí damos reportes de progreso. Estos reportes
son importantes para usted y la maestra porque les da una mejor comprensión de lo
que su hijo actualmente conoce y necesita mejorar. Favor continúe trabajando en
los colores, formas, contar, reconocimiento de números y letras y los sonidos (Se le
informará cuando los reportes de progreso serán enviados a casa) www.starfall.com

Etiquetas
Por favor, recuerde poner el nombre de su hijo/hija en las chaquetas y suéteres.
Estamos encontrando sueteres sin nombre que se paresen igual.
Vestir
La mayoría de los días vamos a salir a jugar así que por favor vista a su hijo/hija
adecuadamente. Las niñas que usen faldas deben usar pantalones cortos debajo.
Cambio de ropa
Todavía nos falta un cambio de ropa para algunos estudiantes. Por favor, ponga la
ropa, incluyendo calcetines y ropa interior, en una bolsa Ziploc con el nombre de su
hijo/hija en la bolsa.
