left side because of surgical preferences and traditions. The long-term consequences of
right or left unilateral oophorectomy on timing of menopause, morbidity, and mortality
need further study.

In a cross-sectional study of 87 pre-, peri- and post-menopausal women, a distinct
bacterial community state type (termed CST IV-A) with low relative abundance of
Lactobacillus spp. was found to be associated with both menopause stage and
vulvovaginal atrophy.

In this study reductions in weight through lifestyle changes led to slight but
significant reductions in blood pressure compared to placebo. Decreases in blood
pressure were observed in women using estrogen therapy as well as in women not
using estrogen therapy.
