First Reading: Wisdom 3: 1-9
Those who left this earth before us are at peace, in
the hands of God. The Lord is their King forever,
and His grace, mercy and love are with His elect.
Second Reading: Romans 5: 5-11
Rejoice in our Lord Jesus Christ! For through His
death and resurrection we have been reconciled
and shall have eternal life. By the power of the
Holy Spirit God has given us hope, and hope does
not disappoint.
Gospel: John 6: 37-40
Jesus calls Himself the Bread of God, the giver of
life to the world. True bread from heaven, not the
manna Moses fed his people in the desert. Through the Eucharist we remember, celebrate and believe. All who believe in Him will
have eternal life, and the Father will raise them up
on the last day.

ST. MARY’S SUNDAY DINNER PROGRAM
St. Mary’s Sunday Dinner
Program is in need of bilingual volunteers to assist with the Spanish
speaking guests that attend the program. This
program is from 2:00pm
to 4:30pm. If anyone is interested in providing help
at least for one hour from 3pm to 4pm when guests
are being served, it will be greatly appreciated. If
interested, please contact Pat Kelleher at 908-7555976.

WINTER COAT DRIVE GIVEAWAY
Our annual collection of winter jackets has begun for St. Mary’s Winter
Coat Giveaway to be held on Sunday,
November 16th between 2:30pm and
4:30pm at St Mary’s Church in Plainfield, NJ. Brenda Anderson (908-7575363) is accepting any winter jacket
that is clean and without tears or rips,
(if possible, replace any missing buttons). Men’s jackets are the greatest need, but women’s are also needed. We also distribute new hats
and gloves. Should anyone wish to help with this,
please call Brenda to work out the details.
ENVELOPES FOR ALL-SOULS DAY
Envelopes for All-Souls day are available at the entrances of the church. Please, return them by November 2.

OUR LADY OF QUINCHE - NOV 16
We would like to invite everyone to
the festivities of Our Lady of Quinche.
It will take place on November 14th
with a 7pm Mass. On Saturday, November 15th there will be a procession
starting at 10AM from Park Avenue
and Front St., followed by Mass at the
Parish. There will be food from Ecuador and their traditional music in the
parking lot of the Church. until 4pm.

CAMPAÑA DE ABRIGOS DE INVIERNO
La oficina estará cerrada el lunes 3 de Noviembre
por el dia de los Santos. Se re abrira el martes 4 de
Noviembre en su horario regular.
Nuestra recolección de abrigos de
invierno para la campaña de donación de abrigos ha comenzado en
St. Mary’s. Estaremos donando
abrigos el domingo 16 de noviembre de 2:30om a 4:30pm. Se aceptacualquier abrigo que esté limpio y
sin rasgar y con cremallera en buen
uso (si es posible, por favor, póngale los botones, si les falta). Estamos
en necesidad de abrigos de hombres, pero se aceptan
de mujeres también. Para donarlos, por favor comuníquense con Brenda Anderson al 908-757-5363.
NECESITAMOS VOLUNTARIOS PARA
EL PROGRAMA DE ALIMENTACION
PARA LOS POBRES.
Los domingos regularmente se ofrece el programa de alimentación para
gente indigente con necesidad de
alimentarse. Muchos no saben de
este programa y estamos en gran
necesidad de voluntarios bilingues que quieran ayudar en el programa. Este programa se ofrece de 2pm
a 4:30pm. Si alguien está interesado en proporcionar
ayuda al menos por una hora de 3pm a 4pm para
ayudar a servir los alimentos a las personas , se les

CALENDARIO DE MISAS 2015
Estamos abriendo el nuevo calendario para las Misas

Se invita a la comunidad Ecuatoriana y
al público en general a las festividades
de la Virgen del Quinche. Estas festividades comenzarán el 14 de noviembre
en la misa de las 7pm. El sábado, 15,
tendremos la procesión a las 10am,
comenzando en la Park Ave y Front
St., Después se llevara a cabo la Misa en homenaje a
la Virgen del Quinche en la Iglesia y habrá música
tradicional compartido con platillos típicos en el parqueadero de la Iglesia hasta las 4pm.

FROM POPE FRANCIS ON A VISIT TO A CEMETERY
At this hour before sunset, we gather in this cemetery and think about
our future, we think of all those who have departed, preceded us in life
and are in the Lord. The vision of Heaven we just have heard described
in the First Reading is very beautiful: the Lord God, beauty, goodness,
truth, tenderness, love in its fullness. All of this awaits us. Those who
have died in the Lord are there. They proclaim that they have been saved
not through their own good works, but that they have been saved by the
Lord: “Salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne, and to the
Lamb!” (Rev 7:10). It is he who save us, it is he who at the end of our
lives takes us by the hand like a father, precisely to that Heaven where
our ancestors are. One of the elders asks: “Who are these, clothed in
white robes, and whence have they come?” (v. 13). Who are these
righteous ones, these saints who are in Heaven? The reply is: “These are
they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their
robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (v. 14). We can
enter heaven only thanks to the blood of the Lamb. Christ’s own blood
has justified us, which has opened for us the gates of heaven. And if
today we remember our brothers and sisters who have gone before us in
life and are in Heaven, it is because they have been washed in the blood
of Christ. This is our hope: the hope of Christ's blood! It is a hope that
does not disappoint. If we walk with the Lord in life, he will never
disappoint us! In the Second Reading, we heard what the Apostle John
said to his disciples: “See what love the Father has given us, that we
should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason the world
does not know us.... We are God's children now; it does not yet appear
what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like
him, for we shall see him as he is” (1 Jn 3:1-2). To see God, to be like God:
this is our hope. And today, on All Saints’ Day and the first day that we
commemorate the faithful departed, we need to think a little about this
hope. The first Christians depicted hope with an anchor, as though life
ere an anchor cast on Heaven’s shores and all of us journeying to that
shore, clinging to the anchor’s rope. This is a beautiful image of hope: to
have our hearts anchored there, where our beloved predecessors are,
where the Saints are, where Jesus is, where God is. This is the hope that
does not disappoint. Hope is a little like leaven that expands our souls.
There are difficult moments in life, but with hope the soul goes forward
and looks ahead to what awaits us. Today is a day of hope. Our brothers
and sisters are in the presence of God and we shall also be there, through
the pure grace of the Lord, if we walk along the way of Jesus. The
Apostle John concludes: “every one who thus hopes in him purifies
himself as he is pure” (v. 3). Hope also purifies us, it lightens us; this
purification in hope in Jesus Christ makes us go in haste, readily. Today
before evening falls each one of us can think of the twilight of life: “What
will my passing away be like?”. All of us will experience sundown, all of
us! Do we look at it with hope? Do we look with that joy at being
welcomed by the Lord? This is a Christian thought that gives us hope.
Today is a day of joy; however it is serene and tranquil joy, a peaceful
joy. Let us think about the passing away of so many of our brothers and
sisters who have preceded us, let us think about the evening of our life.
And let us think about our hearts and ask ourselves: “Where is my heart
anchored?”. If it is not firmly anchored, let us anchor it beyond, on that
shore, knowing that hope does not disappoint because the Lord Jesus
does not disappoint.
DEL PAPA FRANCISCO EN UNA VISITA A UN CEMENTERIO
A esta hora, antes del atardecer, en este cementerio nos recogemos y
pensamos en nuestro futuro, pensamos en todos aquellos que se han ido,
que nos han precedido en la vida y están en el Señor. Es muy bella la
visión del Cielo que hemos escuchado en la primera lectura: el Señor
Dios, la belleza, la bondad, la verdad, la ternura, el amor pleno. Nos
espera todo esto. Quienes nos precedieron y están muertos en el Señor
están allí. Ellos proclaman que fueron salvados no por sus obras
—
también hicieron obras buenas — sino que fueron salvados por el Señor:
«La victoria es de nuestro Dios, que está sentado en el trono, y del
Cordero» (Ap 7, 10). Es Él quien nos salva, es Él quien al final de nuestra
vida nos lleva de la mano como un papá, precisamente a ese Cielo donde
están nuestros antepasados. Uno de los ancianos hace una pregunta:
«Estos que están vestidos con vestiduras blancas, ¿quiénes son y de
dónde han venido?» (v. 13). ¿Quiénes son estos justos, estos santos que
están en el Cielo? La respuesta: «Estos son los que vienen de la gran
tribulación: han lavado y blanqueado sus vestiduras en la sangre del
Cordero» (v. 14).En el Cielo podemos entrar sólo gracias a la sangre del
Cordero, gracias a la sangre de Cristo. Es precisamente la sangre de
Cristo la que nos justificó, nos abrió las puertas del Cielo. Y si hoy
recordamos a estos hermanos y hermanas nuestros que nos precedieron
en la vida y están en el Cielo, es porque ellos fueron lavados por la
sangre de Cristo. Esta es nuestra esperanza: la esperanza de la sangre de
Cristo. Una esperanza que no defrauda. Si caminamos en la vida con el
Señor, Él no decepciona jamás. Hemos escuchado en la segunda Lectura
lo que el apóstol Juan decía a sus discípulos: «Mirad qué amor nos ha
tenido el Padre para llamarnos hijos de Dios, pues ¡lo somos! El mundo
no nos conoce... Somos hijos de Dios y aún no se ha manifestado lo que
seremos. Sabemos que, cuando Él se manifieste, seremos semejantes a Él,
porque lo veremos tal cual es» (1 Jn 3, 1-2). Ver a Dios, ser semejantes a
Dios: ésta es nuestra esperanza. Y hoy, precisamente en el día de los
santos y antes del día de los muertos, es necesario pensar un poco en la
esperanza: esta esperanza que nos acompaña en la vida. Los primeros
cristianos pintaban la esperanza con un ancla, como si la vida fuese el
ancla lanzada a la orilla del Cielo y todos nosotros en camino hacia esa
orilla, agarrados a la cuerda del ancla. Es una hermosa imagen de la
esperanza: tener el corazón anclado allí donde están nuestros
antepasados, donde están los santos, donde está Jesús, donde está Dios.
Esta es la esperanza que no decepciona; hoy y mañana son días de
esperanza. La esperanza es un poco como la levadura, que ensancha el
alma; hay momentos difíciles en la vida, pero con la esperanza el alma
sigue adelante y mira a lo que nos espera. Hoy es un día de esperanza.
Nuestros hermanos y hermanas están en la presencia de Dios y también
nosotros estaremos allí, por pura gracia del Señor, si caminamos por la
senda de Jesús. Concluye el apóstol Juan: «Todo el que tiene esta
esperanza en Él se purifica a sí mismo» (v.3). También la esperanza nos
purifica, nos aligera; esta purificación en la esperanza en Jesucristo nos
hace ir de prisa, con prontitud. En este pre-atarceder de hoy, cada uno de
nosotros puede pensar en el ocaso de su vida: «¿Cómo será mi ocaso?».
Todos nosotros tendremos un ocaso, todos. ¿Lo miro con esperanza? ¿Lo
miro con la alegría de ser acogido por el Señor? Esto es un pensamiento
cristiano, que nos da paz. Hoy es un día de alegría, pero de una alegría
serena, tranquila, de la alegría de la paz. Pensemos en el ocaso de tantos
hermanos y hermanas que nos precedieron, pensemos en nuestro ocaso,
cuando llegará. Y pensemos en nuestro corazón y preguntémonos:
«¿Dónde está anclado mi corazón?». Si no estuviese bien anclado,
anclémoslo allá, en esa orilla, sabiendo que la esperanza no defrauda
porque el Señor Jesús no decepciona.
