The Canonization of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II
The canonizations of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II April 27 will mark a historic
moment for the Catholic Church. To explore the meaning of the lives of these modern-day
spiritual heroes, the U.S. Bishops Office for Media Relations asked several persons to reflect
on their contributions. Writers include scholars and theologians – Catholic, Orthodox and
Jewish – and media personnel involved in coverage of the much travelled John Paul II. Each
could have written a book so please refer to www.usccb.org for lots more information!

We would like to begin a Blue Knights Boys Club here at St.
Ignatius Loyola. The Blue Knights Catholic Club is a boys’ club
aimed at teaching the truths of the Catholic faith to boys through
Scripture, saint’s biographies, games, crafts and the Catechism
of the Catholic Church. Dan McGuire (founder), maps out nine
virtues for boys ages 5 and up in the first year, and then follows
up with three years covering nine catechetical lessons each. If
you are a parent of a young boy and would like to share
responsibility as a group facilitator, please contact Dee Aitken
in the parish office, 561-622-2565. We would like to begin
after Easter if possible.
Little Flowers Girls' Club® is a Catholic program for girls
ages 5 - 10 based on learning Catholic virtues through the
lives of Catholic saints, Scripture and the Catechism of the
Catholic Church. Developed by a Catholic mom of nine,
Rachel Watkins, and based on Fr. Lasance's Catholic
Girls' Guide, the Club strives to bring the Catholic faith
alive and inspire the girls to become authentic Catholic
women.
