Menu items to include: Baked Fish, Baked Potato, Vegetable, and Cole Slaw. Prices are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 10 and under. Families with children will be $25.00 maximum. Desserts will be available for $1.00 each. Our Catholic Faith Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. In addition, all Catholics 14 years old and older must abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all the Fridays of Lent. Fasting as explained by the U.S. bishops means partaking of only one full meal. Some food (not equaling another full meal) is permitted at breakfast and around midday or in the eveningdepending on when a person chooses to eat the main or full meal. Abstinence forbids the use of meat, but not of eggs, milk products or condiments made of animal fat. Ash Wednesday - March 5, 2014 Ashes will be distributed during the following masses: 6:45 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 12 Noon, 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 in Spanish Meager Meal - March 5, 2014 5:00 p.m.. - 7:00 p.m. In the parish hall. There is no cost for this. Stations of the Cross will be held on Fridays during Lent immediately following benediction: 5:15 p.m. in English and 6:15 p.m. in Spanish First Five Saturday’s Devotion Join The First Five Saturday’s Devotion began on February 1, with the next on March 1, April 5, May 3 and June 7. Devotion will begin with attendance at the 8:30 a.m. Mass followed by recitation of the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, and then spending 15 minutes meditating on the Mysteries of the Rosary. By fulfilling First Saturdays for 5 consecutive Months, Our Blessed Mother promises to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation. · Participate in Sacrament of Reconciliation each month, either on that First Saturday, or up to 8 days before or after the First Saturday of the Month. Confession made with the intention of making Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. · Attend Mass and receive Holy Communion. · Recite the Rosary. · Keep The Blessed Mother company for 15 minutes in church, while meditating on the Mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary for any offenses and blasphemies committed against her. GRIEF & LOSS SUPPORT GROUP St. Ignatius Cathedral has begun a grief and loss support group with the next meeting taking place on February 25, at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The purpose of the group is to offer support to persons who are experiencing symptoms of grief due to a recent loss. In general the group will be held weekly for 68 weeks. The group is open to men and women. The meetings will be on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. -11a.m. in the Parish Hall. For more information call the Parish Office. ST.
