The money raised through this national collection
is used to help poorer parishes and dioceses
around the country. Our own dioceses receives
some of this aid.

Special Needs Religious Education
Sr. Olive will facilitate a planning and training workshop
in the convent fireside room on Wednesday, June 1 at
7:00 p.m. The training is for those who would like to
help with religious education and faith formation of children with special needs. All who want to help as catechists and support staff are invited. For more information contact Sr. Olive at 542-3097.

Parish Day of Reflection on May 7
Celebrating the Extraordinary Year of Mercy and to prepare for Pentecost the parish is offering a day of reflection this Saturday, May 7 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in
the convent. The theme of the day is “Mary Mother of
Mercy”. Sr. Olive is the retreat facilitator. All men and
women are welcome. Registration details and forms are
available at the church doors and parish office. For additional information call the parish office.

está ofreciendo un día de reflexión este sábado, 7

Pentecost “The Breaking of the Breads”
Pentecost Sunday, May 15, is an ideal occasion to celebrate the many cultures and ethnic groups that form our
parish. Parishioners are encouraged to wear some of
their native clothing when attending Mass that day.
There will be a social gathering in the hall from 10:00
a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Breads from around the world will be
shared. The social gathering will also feature native music and cultural artifacts. We can use more help. To help

El domingo de Pentecostés, 15 de mayo es una ocasión
ideal para celebrar las muchas culturas y grupos étnicos
que conforman nuestra parroquia. Se les anima a nuestros feligreses a usar algunas de sus ropas nativas al
asistir a Misa ese día. Habrá una reunión social en el salon de 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Se compartirá panes de
todo el mundo. La reunión contará también con música
nativa y artefactos culturales. Podemos usar más ayuda.

Upcoming Bible Study Series in the Parish
The dates are May 16 & 23, June 6, 7, 13, & 20. Time:
7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Location: Convent Fireside Room. Fr.
Thomas Devereaux and Sr. Olive Murphy are the facilitators. The topic is “The Holy Spirit and Spiritual Gifts.”
This is also the name of the book that will be used
throughout the six sessions. The author is Stephen Binz.
It can be purchased at Simply Sacred on Marlow Rd. or
from Amazon. Registration is encouraged. Flyers with
the registration form are available at the church doors
and the parish office.

New Hearing Loop Installed in the Church
This is a gift from a couple in the parish who want to remain anonymous. We thank them for a most generous
gift. Those using a hearing aid should go to the T-Coil
program for clear and direct sound. Those who are not
sure if they have a T-Coil in their hearing aid can contact a Kenwood Hearing Center. The most convenient
location is www.goodhearing.com. The hearing loop is
working very well from the lectern/ambo. There is a
problem with the priest’s microphone and its connection
to the loop. Those who installed the system are working
at correcting this problem.
Nueva audiencia lazo Instalada en la Iglesia
Esto es un regalo de una pareja en la parroquia que
quieren permanecer en el anonimato. Les agradecemos
su regalo tan generoso. Aquellos que utilizan audífonos
deben ir al programa de la bobina para un sonido claro
y directo. Aquellos que no están seguros si el tiene una
bobina en su audífono póngase en contacto con un centro de audiencia en Kenwood. La localización más conveniente es www.goodhearing.com. El bucle de audiencia está funcionando muy bien desde el ambón-lectern.

Get On The Bus – A Detention Ministry
Volunteers are selling raffle tickets this weekend after
the 5:30 p.m. Mass and the 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m.,
10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Masses to raise funds to
send children to visit their moms and dads that are incarcerated. Stop at the table at the front entrance of the
church and try your luck at winning one of the quilts or
other handmade items by purchasing some raffle tickets.
The drawing will take place on Friday, May 6. That’s the
day that two busses will take the children and chaperones to California’s Central Valley. Our support of this
detention ministry is appreciated.

Voluntarios están vendiendo boletos de rifa este fin de
semana después de la Misa de 5:30p.m. y las Misas de
7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. y 12:30 p.m. para recaudar fondos para enviar a los niños a visitar sus mamás y papás que están encarcelados. Visita la mesa en

tendrá lugar el viernes 6 de mayo. Es el día que dos buses llevaran a los niños y acompañantes a Valle Central
