Our Catholic Calendar is made of seasons which are identified by specific themes. Today we return to Ordinary Time
in the Liturgical Calendar. Our liturgical color during ordinary time is green which represents life and hope.

On the Sundays of Ordinary Time we
continue celebrating the paschal mystery of the life, death, and resurrection
of Christ, remembering the events as a
community of faith and giving these
their meaning within a biblical context.
In the Gospel readings we hear of the
life and ministry of Jesus and the call to discipleship. The
readings and the sacramental life nourish us and strengthen us to deepen our baptismal commitment to go and make
known the good news of the reign of God.
Los domingos de tiempo ordinario seguimos
celebrando el misterio pascual de la vida,
muerte y resurrección de Cristo, recordando
los acontecimientos como una comunidad de
fe y dándole sentido a través de los textos
bíblicos. En los Evangelios oímos hablar de

Summer is an ideal time for us to reflect on our spiritual
lives. The readings and prayers all call on us to remember
that even though the great days of the Triduum, Pentecost
and Eastertide are now past, there is so much beauty to be
found in the ordinary things of our daily lives.

“love one another.” Unfortunately
today, many people have “passion”
for activities they enjoy - their job
and off-work activities. Many times our “passion” to
excel is at the expense of someone else. Maybe we
need to focus on a little less passion for our individual
concerns and a lot more compassion for others.
