for Embedded Concrete Tie-Off Strap
SPECIFICATION OF USE:
Use for personal fall protection in either fall arrest or fall restraint for one person at a
time when the concrete to which the anchor strap is secured is capable of supporting 5,000 lbs. or two times the intended load. For use by more than one person,
engineering is required by qualified person. The concrete tie-off strap is 48” in length
and made from 5,000 pound nylon webbing that is encased with a nylon sleeve to
guard against abrading. Fitted with a Di-chromate proof loaded D-ring. The Tie-Off
Strap is rated for 5,000 pounds.

Insert the web loop end of the strap through rebar that is at
least 12” in length. Extend the D-ring end of the strap through
the form-work or finished surface of the concrete allowing a
sufficient length that will allow the D-ring to move freely.

The concrete structure and the size of the rebar to which the
strap is secured must be capable of supporting the intended
load once the concrete is cured. Use only with pre-mixed
2,500 psi or greater concrete that is a structural component,
such as a foundation wall, slab or column with a minimum of
4” of concrete poured over the top of the rebar to which the
web loop end is attached.
Warning: If the concrete is not cured in accordance with the
concrete suppliers specification, if cracks around the tie-off installation pint have occurred, or if the cured concrete has been
damaged the tie-off strap may not support the load when
subjected to a fall impact.
LIMIT OF USE & REMOVAL FROM SERVICE:
Tie-Off straps that are poured in place are to be used only as temporary anchorage devices and must be
evacuated once the initial construction is completed. Webbing embedded in concrete for more than two
or three years may be subject to chemical deterioration. Remove by cutting off strap.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE:
The contact point between the webbing and the concrete is
subjected to a higher degree of wear and tear. Inspect webbing
for cuts, tears, chemical or heat damage, torn or cut threads on
the stitch pattern and the web-loop end stitch pattern. Check the
D-ring for cuts, bends, or deformation. Remove and dispose of any
straps that have defects or damage. Do not use if D-ring is missing
or if the strap has been knotted.

ESPECIFICACIONES DE USO:
Use para protección personal contra caídas, ya sea para detener o prevenir caídas a una persona a la vez cuando el concreto al cual está asegurada la correa de amarre tenga capacidad
para soportar 5,000 libras o dos veces la carga prevista. Para usar por más de una persona se
requiere de un diseño por una persona capacitada. La correa de amarre en concreto mide 48”
de longitud y está hecha de 5,000 libras de bandas trenzadas de nailon que está cubierto con
una funda de nailon para proteger contra el desgaste por rozamiento. Equipado con un anillo
de trinca de bicromato resistente a cargas. La Correa de Amarre tiene una capacidad nominal de
5,000 libras.

Introduzca el extremo del bucle del tejido de la correa a través de la
barra de refuerzo, la cual debe tener por lo menos 12” de longitud.
Extienda el extremo del anillo de trinca de la correa a través de la
estructura de formaleta o superficie acabada del concreto permitiendo
una longitud suficiente que permitirá que el anillo de trinca se mueva
libremente.
ESPECIFICACIONES DEL CONCRETO:

La estructura de concreto y el tamaño de la barra de refuerzo a la cual
está asegurada la correa deben tener capacidad para soportar la carga
prevista una vez que el concreto haya curado. Use sólo con concreto
premezclado de por lo menos 2,500 psi que sea parte de un componente estructural, como una pared, losa o columna de fundación
con un mínimo de 4” de concreto vertido sobre la superficie superior
de la barra de refuerzo a la cual el extremo del bucle del tejido está
sujetado.
Advertencia: Si el concreto no está curado de conformidad con las
especificaciones de los proveedores de concreto, si han ocurrido grietas alrededor del punto de instalación o si el cemento curado ha sido
dañado, la correa de amarre podría no soportar la carga cuándo esté
sujeta a un impacto de caída.
LÍMITE DE USO Y REMOCIÓN DE SERVICIO:
Las correas de amarre que son vertidas en el lugar sólo deben ser usadas como dispositivos temporales de amarre y deben ser sacadas una vez que la construcción inicial es completada. La banda trenzada incrustada en cemento por más
de dos o tres años puede estar sometida a un deterioro químico. Remueva cortando la correa.
MÉTODO DE INSPECCIÓN:
El punto de contacto entre la banda trenzada y el concreto está sometido a un
grado más alto de deterioro. Inspeccione para asegurar que la banda trenzada
no tenga cortes, desgarraduras, daños químicos o debido al calor, hilos rotos o
cortados en el patrón de la puntada ni el patrón de la puntada del extremo del
bucle del tejido. Compruebe que el anillo de trinca no tenga cortes, ni dobleces o
deformaciones. Quite y deseche cualquier correa que tenga defectos o daños. No
use sin el anillo de trinca como tampoco si la correa tiene nudos.
