Archdiocesan Family Prayer
L
oving and faithful God, through the years the people of
our archdiocese have appreciated the prayers and love
of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in times of war, disaster,
epidemic and illness. We come to you, Father, with Mary our
Mother, and ask you to help us in the battle of today against
violence, murder and racism.
We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build a
community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives respect
to the life and dignity of all people.
Bless parents that they more form their children in faith. Bless
and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our
time. Give consolation to those who have lost loved ones
through violence.
Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance to be a voice for
life and human dignity in our community.

D
Amen.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us.
Nuestra Señora del Pronto Socorro, apresúrate a socorrernos.
Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we may be a holy family.

All are Welcome
1. Let us build a house
where love can dwell
And all can safely live,
A place where
saints and children tell
How hearts learn to forgive.
Built of hopes and dreams and visions,
Rock of faith and vault of grace;
Here the love of Christ shall end divisions:
Refrain
All are welcome, all are welcome,
all are welcome in this place.
2. Let us build a house
where prophets speak,
And words are strong and true,
Where all God's children dare to seek
To dream God's reign anew.
Here the cross shall stand as witness
And a symbol of God's grace;
Here as one we claim the faith of Jesus:
3. Let us build a house where love is
found
In water, wine and wheat:
A banquet hall on holy ground,
Where peace and justice meet.
Here the love of God, through Jesus,
Is revealed in time and space;
As we share in Christ the feast that frees
us:

wider than all that
we can imagine;
you are greater than anything.
3. You bring joy
into all our sadness,
you bring peace
into all our pain,
shining light into
all our darkness;
you are greater than anything.

Entrada
1. Bright Star of David,
radiance of God,
now become the living bread,
the body of the Lord.
Come in adoration;
receive with trembling hands,
the sacrament most holy,
the banquet of the Lamb.
2. Drink of living waters
flowing from the Lord.
Taste the cup of blessing;
Partake of precious blood.
River of salvation,
holy cleansing tide,
fountain of redemption
flowing from the Savior's side.
3. Priest of highest honor,
King and Sov'reign Lord,
unblemished Lamb of sacrifice,
Your very life outpoured.
Royal Paschal victim,
true begotten Son,
Offered as our ransom
By the Holy One.
Refrain 2
This is Jesus, Emmanuel;
God is with us
in this sacrament.
Come receive Him, adore Him;
This is Jesus our Lord.
This is Jesus our Lord.
5. Many the gifts, many the people,
many the hearts that yearn to belong.
Let us be servants to one another,
making your kingdom come.

Virgen de Suyapa
1. Virgen de Suyapa, ¡oh Reina de Honduras!
La nación entera te aclama de hinojos,
y devota implora las santas ternuras,
la dulce e infinita piedad de tus ojos;
y que apartes siempre los crueles abrojos;
llevaré las rosas más bellas de Honduras;

Shine in your church gathered today.
2. Longing for peace, our world is troubled.
Longing for hope, many despair.
Your word alone has pow’r to save us.
Make us your living voice.
3. Longing for food, many are hungry.
Longing for water, many still thirst.
Make us your bread, broken for others,
shared until all are fed.
4. Longing for shelter, many are homeless.
Longing for warmth, many are cold.
Make us your building, sheltering others,
walls made of living stone.

Refiner’s Fire (Purify My Heart)
1. Purify my heart,
let me be as gold
and precious silver.
Purify my heart,
let me be as gold,
pure gold.
I wanna be in the light as You are in the
light.
I wanna shine like the stars in the heavens.
Lord, be my light and be my salvation;
Cause all I want is to be in the light.
All I want is to be in the light.
2. The disease of the self
runs through my blood;
It's a cancer fatal to my soul.
Every attempt on my behalf has failed
to bring the sickness under control.
Is there such a thing as a man of peace?
If there is, then a man of peace I want to
be
I will need Your help if I am ever to be
that
If I'm to lay down, lay down, lay down,
Then I'll lay my life for my brothers and
sisters.
I will need Your help;
Jesus I need Your light forever shining
bright.
Refrain
Refiner's fire:
My heart's one desire
is to be holy,
set apart for You, Lord.
I choose to be holy,
set apart for You my Master;
Ready to do Your will.
2. Purify my heart,
cleanse me from within
and make me holy.
Purify my heart,
cleanse me from my sin,
deep within.

“My soul is longing for the Lord more
than a watchman for daybreak.” Ps
130:6
At some point we all experience what
it means to long “for the Lord.” Times
of sickness or anxiety over a job or a
painful relationship bring on that
longing; sometimes we can even get impatient with Him, wondering why He is not listening to us. Simeon and Anna waited
patiently for the coming of the Messiah, they were growing
old, all the signs foretold were present, and they longed for
His coming. And then one day He was there in the temple, in
the arms of His Mother Mary, and they were satisfied. Their
mission was accomplished, the Lord had come. At the end of
His earthly life He promised to return and we long for that day.
Let us keep watch and pray so that we will be prepared to
meet Him with open arms. In the meantime He comes to
each of us in times of personal prayer but most of all through
the sacraments. “Come, Lord Jesus!”

Salmo 130:6
Mantengamos Velad y orad
