Divine Mercy Parish Archdiocesan Family Prayer L oving and faithful God, through the years the people of our archdiocese have appreciated the prayers and love of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in times of war, disaster, epidemic and illness. We come to you, Father, with Mary our Mother, and ask you to help us in the battle of today against violence, murder and racism. We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives respect to the life and dignity of all people. Bless parents that they more form their children in faith. Bless and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our time. Give consolation to those who have lost loved ones through violence. Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance to be a voice for life and human dignity in our community. Amen. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Let us build a house where prophets speak, And words are strong and true, Where all God's children dare to seek To dream God's reign anew. Here the cross shall stand as witness And a symbol of God's grace; Here as one we claim the faith of Jesus: 3. Let us build a house where love is found In water, wine and wheat: A banquet hall on holy ground, Where peace and justice meet. Simeon and Anna waited patiently for the coming of the Messiah, they were growing old, all the signs foretold were present, and they longed for His coming. And then one day He was there in the temple, in the arms of His Mother Mary, and they were satisfied. Their mission was accomplished, the Lord had come. At the end of His earthly life He promised to return and we long for that day. Let us keep watch and pray so that we will be prepared to meet Him with open arms. In the meantime He comes to each of us in times of personal prayer but most of all through the sacraments. “Come, Lord Jesus!” BLESSING OF THE GARDEN OF THE INNOCENTS FR.
