Se ha planteado un proceso de construcción que reduzca al mínimo el impacto
en las instalaciones y en el entorno urbano adyacente, lo que se consiguió a
través de unos innovadores métodos de construcción modular y con un cuidado
programa de obras.
La nueva T2 se desarrolla bajo una cubierta cuyas tres grandes curvas marcan
los tres grandes procesos a realizar por un pasajero en salidas: facturación,
control de seguridad y embarque. De esta manera función y forma se integran
completamente, ayudando al pasajero a orientarse por la Terminal de forma
intuitiva y natural.
Las ondas de la cubierta se inclinan unas contra otras creando lucernarios en
sus intersecciones orientados a norte, de esta manera se permite la entrada de
suficiente luz natural a la vez que se controla la radiación solar permitiendo un
importante ahorro energético.
La nueva Terminal está diseñada para reducir en un 40% la emisión del CO2
en comparación con un edificio de su misma tipología y escala, mediante la
combinación y desarrollo de sistemas energéticos activos y pasivos.
El pasajero en salidas disfruta de más de 20.000 m2 de superficie comercial
distribuida en dos alturas, contigua a la sala de embarque y dotada de
excelentes vistas al campo de vuelos.

This is possible thanks to innovative solutions based
on modular systems and through a carefully designed
construction schedule.
The new T2 is defined by a roof whose three large
waves emphasize the three main parts of the process
passengers go through before flying: check-in, security
control, and boarding. Therefore function and shape are
deeply integrated allowing passengers to easily orientate
themselves through the terminal in an intuitive way.
The roof waves lean one over the other, housing skylights
in their intersections, all facing North in order to allow an
important inflow of natural light, while reducing solar gain
and contributing to saving energy.
The new terminal´s design reduces 40% of CO2
emissions compared to a similar building type through the
application of a combination of active and passive energy
systems.
Departing passengers will enjoy more than 20.000 m2 of
commercial area distributed in two floors, adjoining to the
boarding gate and offering excellent views to the apron.
