Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
It is with great pleasure to share with you that the one to one digital initiative is on track
to continue at Manassas Park Middle School in August 2016! Distribution of the one to one
devices is one part of the larger division-wide MPCS Connects! Initiative. It will provide,
through a phased-in approach, full accessibility of devices for each student at Manassas Park
Middle School.
This promises to be an exhilarating journey that will transform teaching and learning while
preparing our students to meet the demands and obtain the skills necessary for the 21st century.
MPCS openly recognizes that we should be not preparing students for our past, but for their
future. With the launch of the one to one for grade 6-8 at MPMS, the future looks very bright for
our students and teachers!
We are proud and excited to inform you that all students in grades 6th through 8th will receive a
device for next school year. Details regarding exact dates and times of deployment will be sent
over the summer. During deployment, students will receive devices and complete a short
orientation. Upon completion of the orientation, your child will receive his/her device and the
mandatory, protective backpack. Your student’s device cannot be provided without a parent or
guardian present nor will a device be provided directly to the parent without the student present.

Estimados Padres o Tutores,
Es con un gran orgullo que les comparto a ustedes una de las iniciativas digitales nuevas
que estarán por comenzar en la escuela de Manassas Park Middle School en Agosto del 2016!
Esta iniciativa es parte de toda la división de las escuelas de Manassas Park City Schools. Va a
proveer a todos los estudiantes con sus computadoras portátiles en la escuela intermedia.
Esta iniciativa promete ser muy estimulante y transformara la enseñanza y el aprendizaje
mientras prepara nuestros estudiantes para ser más competitivos y tener más habilidades
necesarios del siglo 21. MPCS reconoce que no solo tenemos que educar a nuestros estudiantes
sobre el pasado pero también prepáralos para sus futuros. Con el lanzamiento de esta iniciativa
nueva para los estudiantes de grados 6-8 de MPMS, el futuro de los estudiantes y maestros se
mira mucho más brillante!
Estamos orgullosos y emocionados de informales que el año entrante todos los estudiantes de
grados 6-8 recibirán una computadora portátil. Detalles sobre el día exacto de distribución serán
mandados durante el verano. Durante la distribución, los estudiantes recibirán una corta
orientación. Después que terminen la orientación, su estudiante recibirá su computadora portátil
acompañada con la mochila protectora. Las computadoras portátiles no podrán ser distribuidas
sin la presencia del estudiante y un padre de familia/tutor. Esperamos embarcar esta nueva etapa
con ustedes, su estudiante, y toda la comunidad de la escuela. Que tengan un verano maravilloso!
